I absolutely LOVEEE the moment (4:48) when you asked Dima to compare your topspin and Ma Long's topspin, there's so much value in hearing why Ma Long is so good from Dima's perspective, I can't describe how great of a job you did with that question! I'm in the top 75 players in my country and all I think is how can I get to attack at all, but I just realized there's so much more to it. The best table tennis video I've watched in a very long time!

I used an inner force alc the other day for the first time and it literally felt like cheat mode. I could really feel the ball dwelling into the bat giving huge control that I've never felt before and my FH loops and drives were so intuitive like autopilot. Just incredible these innerforce ALCs.

@@TableTennisDaily This is also why Timo uses a straight handle. I also changed to straight handle because of that and it was much easier for me to change grip from backhand to forehand. Great video!
@jplanglais
@jplanglais Жыл бұрын
@@TableTennisDaily Having this "problem" has well I tried a straight handle but it kept falling on the ground it was so slippery. Did Dima told you where he puts pressure on the blade so it doesn't fall? I Assume he's very relaxed and not stiff like us mortals..
@-danR
@-danR Жыл бұрын
Throughout my 20's I was always a wrist-only player for bh/fh change; the logic being how do change your grip with precision so that it _always_ locks into the identical angle--open/close--for every shot? Now it my later years I'm exploring various handles that force that lock every time with every grip-change: there is a fixed and exactly repeatable position for either fh or bh. I have practically eliminated wrist-bend variable, with only wrist-rotation remaining.
@z0uLess
@z0uLess Жыл бұрын
I suppose the thickness makes it flex less and that this stiffness is catered to his awesome backhand so he can be precise while hitting the ball further out on the blade.

Tried this blade recently and liked it but it didn't push out my main blade, the TSP balsa 5.5 with Andro Hexer Power Grip FH and Donic Bluestorm Pro AM, BH. I've tried dozens of blades and can't seem to find one that works as well in all segments, including smashing and pushing. Recently tried the Donic Original Carbon Inner and really liked it too. I'll wait for the end of the season to try and make it work with different rubbers. The quest never ends😂😂

Swing extremely early on those tomahawks that are due to clear the sideline before a 2nd bounce on your side. When trying to push the short, heavy underspinning ones, be getting there as the ball bounces on your side. Use the force from your right foot moving forward in tandem with your actual pushing motion with the racket. This force will make it easier to get the ball over the net and not bury it into the net. However, the ones I saw you bury in this video looked to mainly be because you were way too late. Also Dan, I noticed that you're not constantly adjusting your positioning after each shot. You need to always ASSUME THE WORST, Dan. Always assume what you're vulnerable for is coming and position yourself to protect yourself from getting burned just because you didn't move at all. I kept saying "Move Dan. C'mon, move.". I think you need to really focus on strafing to where you're not leaving yourself vulnerable, and to where you don't get attacks stolen, or countered either. Keep telling yourself to immediately move after every single shot. And you have to move all at once, and very rapidly. Move from one spot to another spot with both feet at the same time. And keep your feet the same distance apart throughout too. Don't extend one leg out farther than the other, or something like that. Finally, instead of missing that inside out forehand cross-table attack like you did multiple times in this video, try moving to your right and hitting a hard cross-table backhand attack instead. Try to get that nice diagonal motion with your arm's swing on the backhand and try to enhance your power by rotating your hips. And remember this: When you're attacking with a backhand and the contact point is going to be higher than the height of the net, you need less wrist action and you need to try to hit the ball more straight, and not upwards. Wrist action on the backhand is going to make ball travel upwards and on a path which is an arc. When you're hitting it very hard and the ball is getting hit from above the net, hitting with a bunch of wrist is going to cause the shot to go long. It's the power that's causing it. So, when you hit the backhand with real power, keep that in mind.
