I remember when I first started playing the game and was wrapping my head around the chapters. "Okay so the Dark Angels have a regular version, a terminator version, and... a fast version that likes bikes. and is named Ravenwing. And uses black and white colours. Man the White Scars and Raven Guard players must hate this chapter"

That was such an awesome battle! I expected the Necrons to wipe the floor but it was engaging all throughout! Also, hope you fellas are taking care of yourselves. It is appreciated when you go back for corrections but completely understandable when you have so much stuff to keep track of, between different armies, mission and primary rules, etc.

Ravenwing were probably the only wing of the Codex that came out mostly unscathed, so making a list around them is the best bet aside from just soupong Azreal and a Darkshroud into boring Marines.

That was a great game, really enjoyed it. I note you guys used the old pill bases for the black knights, most competitive scenes insist on using the bases the models are currently sold with, is that not something you've looked at? Keep up the great work, the extra effects, the various views etc all add to a great watch experience - and we don't care that you messed up the score, it happens and you caught it :)

Not something we've looked at, nor really fussed by, as we're not taking them to other competitive scenes 🙂 The Wraiths would also be on incorrect bases by that logic, however both units are using the bases they were supplied with at the time, and there's no inconsistencies in units - if some of the Knights were on different bases, that'd be more of an issue 🙂

Can someone tell me why Chef was able to Hyperphase turn one given that Hyperphase specifically says the units are placed into Strat Reserves? I’d love to be able to do this but don’t think I can 🤔

Units with Deep Strike are allowed to arrive Turn 1 if placed into Strategic Reserve, per both the Core Rules and Designers Commentary 🙂

It's a very complicated string of rules interaction. They boil down to if you go second you can arrive turn 1 if the unit didn't start the game in reserve BUT (capitals because its an important caveat) only if it has a method of arriving that isn't standard walk on from a board edge (usually deepstrike but the necrons 3" anywhere deployment counts for this).

I found out today how much I enjoy your content. Any other channel battle report, as soon as I saw that Necron list I would have stopped watching and gone to the next video (seeing the top units in the top detachment cookie cuttered every game gets boring fast). All I can figure is the attitudes and entertainment value override my distaste for those style army lists ^^

Remember with the mission rule (Targets of Opportunity), Bard had his 2 Fixed *and* a random Tactical each turn, so he maxed them out due to the 3rd Secondary as well 🙂 -Chef

FAQ note, halving damage is before modifiers.

Why is it that heavy destroyers always seems to wiff? Hate that necrons got so unpredictable shooting. Manage to shatter star eating gods but can't kill airplanes...

Such is the nature of weapons that get 1 attack. They wiff the same amount as other weapons do, but you notice it more because you only roll 1 dice ^^

I could be wrong, as I don't know how DA works or the detachment, etc, but I'm pretty sure all Aircraft units HAVE to start in strategic reserves? So the Dark Talon/Jetfighter wouldn't be able to show up till T2, and wouldn't be able to move until T3??? Please correct me if I am wrong, I am just reading the Aircraft rules on the app!!

If they have the Hover rule (which they do) they can elect to start the game in Hover mode, allowing them to set up normally, and lose all associated aircraft rules 🙂 Search for Hover in the App and its all explained there - Chef

@@Pylfer Just worth noting that Hover is an ability that will be next to "CORE: .." on the datasheet, not a keyword. One of my gaming friends didn't realize this and was just checking the keywords, he was happy when I pointed it out to him as he wanted to use his planes but the aircraft rules stopped him.

That’s fair and it’s your channel - you do you. I just find it a little funny calling out Tau Crisis Suits with triple Cyclic Ion Blasters and then bringing two C’Tan, when unoptimized lists can’t even handle ONE C’Tan.

Not sure when CIBs were mentioned here 😅 But I quite rightly say I'm a terrible human being as I use said C’tan, as well as saying they either didn't need the FnP in the first place, or need a points bump, which I've also mentioned elsewhere. In joining my gaming friends playing 40k 10th edition (I haven't played 40k since 7th and had sold everything), I was going to pick up Votann or Chaos Knights as they seemed fun for casual play. One of my friends insisted I play my favourite army Necrons (to the point of buying me the combat patrol for Xmas last year..), I wasn't going to as while they are my favourite fluff and models. Playing them in the past wasn't the most enjoyable for opponents.. I am now playing Necrons, which funnily enough currently proclaimed "the most OP army" by the loud internet people. So when one of the group brings it up I can just point at my friend mentioned above and say "blame him, I was going to play something else". Thankfully the only models I currently own from "the OP lists" is a Technomancer, Szeras & Plasmancer. And my preferred play style is Awakened Dynasty detachment. Hopefully they will fix the Void Dragon's points by the time I get around to buying one, such a sexy model!
