Tack it Tutorial with a Twist

Hey guys, welcome back!
If you ever wondered what opal glitter looked like using the tack it method well then you’re in the right place.

Glitter used is called Flurries, it is an opal white extra fine glitter

I really like the idea of trying something new/experimenting on a dollar store piece first!! Even if it doesn’t work it’s only a Dollar and someone else will probably love it. This turned out lovely!! .. & opened up loads of color options the base and the glitters 👏👏👏

This looks amazing !! I’ve been using just extra fine glitters on my tumblers with the tack it method . I wasn’t aware you HAD to use just holographic glitters with this method , and I think they’ve been coming out nice . Art has no rules . Glitter looks great on everything , lol .

U can use any glitter. Depending on the look u want. Do a small spot b4 committing to a color. She is pretty much just lying down all the glitter flakes flat when rubbing it. When sprinkled on, the glitter is standing up in all diff directions.

I know this is an old tutorial but🤣 it's awesome! I do have a question. Can I do this method with pigment powder??? I have looked on youtube but cant find anyone using tackit. They use a adhesive glue. Please help me!! Thank u so much!!

Do you prep the glass the same as you would a tumbler by sanding before you spray paint it??

No I don’t sand the glass I just was with soap and water and spritz with alcohol

I have been told over and over nothing but holographic fine glitter will do this. This is Amazing!! Question ~ have you ever done this method on a beveled glass? If you respond after 2 years, I would love that!

Hi! Thanks so much! I’m so glad this video was helpful to you. Yes I have done this technique on a wine glass. You would prep and do it the same way or you could probably just do it over the glass for a more transparent look.

Yes it can be done on any surface. You would still need to seal the glitter so if you are going to use it for drinking then make sure it’s fda compliant ☺️

Will the oils from your hand/fingers have any affect on how the apoxy will lay?

Yes the oil from your hands will mess it up. I always wear gloves

wow the final look is really nice but i cant find an answer to my question must i epoxy it and why if i am going to use this method for just decoration not ffor drinking stuff ?? plz answer if u see my comment

If it’s not being used for drinking then you do not need to epoxy it. You do a light seal spray or leave it as is.

I would add a layer of resin then add my vinyl and epoxy again. Just to give the glitter more protection ☺️

How long do you let it dry for after applying the tack it over and over?

10-15 mins but I’ll usually put it infront of a fan or hit it with my heat gun to speed that up.
