Ok, I just have to say this is the smartest tack up with me video, you aren't just throwing your equipment on the horse, you can obviously tell the care and time you are putting into this, and even taking a moment to make sure your audience knows how to tighten equipment properly. mad respect girl

Wow thank you so much!! What you've said has legitimately made my entire week 💕 You are amazing, thank you for spreading positivity! This comment shows that you are a compassionate and knowledgable rider that treats her horse as a living creature rather than a ribbon winning machine- something this world needs more of. Hope you have a wonderful day 😊

I love your horse and the way you tack him up. Chcecking on it not just throwing it on like any other yt'ers do. But why do you use spurs?😐
@devyndaisy51626 жыл бұрын
Every horse and rider is different. Spurs are an extension of your leg aid and should only be used by people with steady legs. Meaning experienced people. And it prevents unneeded kicking. As some horses are lazy and need artificial aids to push them forward expecially in spooky environments
@olciakidaisy77336 жыл бұрын
Zee Baxter no, there is no excuse for spurs I do not agree woth them as they are useless and cause too mich pain. We own a stable with 22 horses and we dont even have a spare pair of spurs. My parents do not agree with them as they are useless and cause pain. It is better to learn without them as you develop your skills of giving little kicks.
@youngequestrian82036 жыл бұрын
I use spurs but i gentlly squese with my spurs
@lilyryan31466 жыл бұрын
Spurs, when used correctly, do not cause pain unless they are sharp, which these little round ones are not. They are intended to be used in order to fine-tune your aids and be able to get a response from your horse without needing to kick. When you are making a sharp turn to get to a jump you and your horse must be in sync, and doing "little kicks" to encourage it to follow the turn without falling in (or down!) will only unsettle your seat and unbalance you, and possibly confuse your horse as well. Having spurs on prevents that situation-you need only to press them into the horse's side and the horse will follow the direction the spurs are pushing him. No kicking, you stay balanced, and the horse is no worse for the wear just because he had a little bit of dull metal pressing into his side for a second. Yes spurs can harm, but so can bits, ill-fitting saddles, incorrectly wrapped polos/boots, too tight a bridle, etc. Anything we put on our horses can be used to harm (even unintentionally) and the blame for it cannot be placed on one thing (ex. spurs). If you are causing your horse pain when you ride with spurs then *you* are the issue, not the tool. Spurs used in moderation and as they are intended to be are fine.
@olciakidaisy77336 жыл бұрын
Lily Ryan oh really? So if some one would start kicking you with "not sharp" spurs then it wouldn't hurt ya? A small poece of metal being kicked in your ribs is not pleasant or good in any way, shape otlr form

Why don't you try a bitless bridle. Bits cause a ton of pain. Imagine having an object pulling your mouth.
@nicole-io6wt6 жыл бұрын
Bits don't cause pain if you know how to use them right; they're there to help control the horse.
@labrakadabra90266 жыл бұрын
Yeah but still would you like metal or even a heavy rubber object in your mouth no! I answered it for you. You're welcome! Yes I know horses don't have teeth there. But still. Well if you have to use a bit then why ride at all that is selfish. Actually when a horse acts up on a halter or bitless bridle it's because they are happy that they can do what they want without pain. That's why they show their selves. Because they know with a bit they better not act up as much. Because it's non stop pain on mouth. They try their best to avoid the pain with the bit it's pretty obvious. Because they will open their mouth constantly to try to avoid the pain on the roof of their mouth and their tounge. They don't open their mouth like that any other time. Even riders that are pretty much labeled with soft hands their horses mouth is still facing the ground with their mouth constantly opens. Watch and excuse I can't wait to see this. What oh well horses open their mouth with bit because it feels soooo good.
@labrakadabra90266 жыл бұрын
Can you please go to tack store first thing in the morning and go to the tack store and buy yourself a brand new snaffle or rubber bit and go home sit on a chair and someone behind you hold it in you mouth and hold your teeth up as far as you can do that it's not hitting your teeth. Then have someone behind the chair yank on it even a little pull. Or sit there for an hour with it just sitting in your mouth. Then say it's not irritating and painful. Please let me know your experience with that. Thank you.
@labrakadabra90266 жыл бұрын
You won't do it because you know. But yet you'll say it's ok for horses.
@labrakadabra90266 жыл бұрын
Keep wasting your money on torture devices that's sad. When that money could go to extra treats for the horse. Bits were designed to control a horse in pain.
