Just looked up jigs online and it said the tady 4/0 was six ounces but the 14a was 3.7 ounces. I thought 14a was supposed to be heavier? The tady one does say "heavy" so is there supposed to be a "heavy" version of the 14a? Or the 4/0 steve is talking about is NOT the heavy version? Love your videos! Can't wait to be retired and get on board!

The Tady 14a "heavy" weighs 8 ounces. Some online catalogues don't properly separate the "heavy" and "light" versions.

@@tunanorth Thanks so much for clearing that up!

Hey Steve. Would the 6’6 30-80 be a good rod. Not sure if that was the length you suggested. It shows as a trolling rod but???? Short and stout to pull on the yo-yo fish. Thanks.

It would be an excellent choice for yo-yo fishing. Assuming you mean the 6-6 30-80 Carnage III "West Coast" model, its working title during development was "Panga Special".

Thanks for the quick reply!! Yes it is a west coast model. Glad I picked wisely. One of the many Penn rod setups I picked up this season from your suggestions. Your short and to the point tackle tip Thursday's are great. I’ll give it a slow troll shot as well. 👍

Hi, I am James senior I got a son James junior and he's left-handed. I've been trying to teach him how to tie knots. Fishing up what is hard to teach him. He's left-handed, I'm right. Can you give me some tips to show him how to tide knots for fishing, thank you.

Steve Carson attempting to remain relevant! Outstanding! Steve could sell sand in Arabia and lies to the RNC, but yoyo fishing for Yellowtail, not so much. Last thing you would ever want to use is a rod over 7', unless you happened to be 8' tall. Penn reel, well, last yoyo Yellowtail I took on a Penn was with a 349H Master Mariner! Two speed, yes, first and foremost. Anybody over 60 absolutely. Tuna! Yellowtail will kick you butt faster than any fish and to get them you need to wind! As for the #1 yoyo jig, it is Salas 6x, period; with the JRI 66 second. You're out of your depth on this one. You're a bait guy. I saw your gear getting on a boat in June. On my upcoming 8 I'll take 7 yoyo rods 40, 50, multiple 60, 80, & 100- the 100# will use 3 speed reel. Anyway, off the elliptical now. Have a great evening

You only bring 7? I do still have some Salas 6XJr's and regular 6X's that I got from Dal Salas, peg-leg and all. I like them, but still like Tady 4/0's a little bit more. I'm also starting to really like the "Brass Monkey" by 2 Fish Jigs for yo-yo'ing too.
