Great Video Steve! My first reel was A Penn 500 Jig Master. Paid $19.00 for it in 1972 had to cut A lot of lawns for that.

Great video Steve We used similar techniques in the Gulf of Mexico for Mutton & Cuberra snapper. I’m old school and still hot rod my Senator reels with Newell kits. I have just acquired my first Yellow Tail Special” reel from the west coast.

Do people still use treble hooks for yellowtail when fishing live mackerel?

An old trick from the days when boats used to anchor up at the Coronado Islands. Due to the sea lion population explosion, it is no longer practical.

Yea... This technique fished by someone who can't control the egg sinker will probably end up wapping a shit load of people in a tangle... You should have added that you need to thumb spool every few seconds while in free spool so you keep the sinker next to the hook. If not, your bait is swimming out away from the sinker as it sinks... Good way to cause a cluster f***.. This should be taught by a deck hand.

The time constraints for TTT are fairly tight, there are always numerous things that could be added. Rest assured that the Searcher crew will assist to whatever level is necessary when you are out on the water.
