Ok Gene. I get it the you’re interested in Plano Edge, but those boxes are exorbitantly expensive. I use the FTO terminal tackle boxes. Here’s my problem, out of sight, out of mind. Therefore, I can’t afford to put stuff where I can’t see it. When I need it, I’ll forget I have it.
@Flukemaster4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with all that. To me the edge box for terminal tackle is worth the money because the weight of water he sinkers destroy other boxes so easily.
@johngalt35684 жыл бұрын
@@Flukemaster Gene: Yep, you are on the water more than I am. Plus having the kayak demands having stuff hemmed up where it won’t get loose. Thanks for the Tackle Tuesday segments. Makes me think about the why behind what I do with equipment.

Gene, good luck on Logan this week. It is my home lake. My favorite pastime for years now is chasing Spots in a kayak around here on Logan and it's tribs. I almost never share my places with anyone, but you've always seemed like a square gent. If interested, message me.

Awesome, Gene I finally get my chance to recommend something to you since I've always been taking in your advice. You have got to try out the Mustad Fastatch quick connect for changing out baits fastly they are the best I've used to date. Make sure you check them out, maybe do a review on them once you have used them for a little while.....
@jbjgibbons4 жыл бұрын
I love using those punch stops (bobber stops). I used to pay like $3.79 for a pack of 3 at BPS. But let me tell you, don’t be scared to pick up a bulk supply off Amazon. I bought like a thousand of those little bobber stop kits (6 stops per) for less than 10 bucks! So definitely worth checking out Amazon for some of this terminal tackle. I mean those things literally cost pennies a piece to produce. And BPS wanted 4 bucks for 3 of them! Anyway, the ones I got seem to be the same quality. And now I have 1,000 of them. 😂
@Flukemaster4 жыл бұрын
I've done that too but I never could find some that were made from the same kind of stiff rubber that the name brand ones are made of. It always took two or three of the cheap ones to keep my heavy tungsten weights pegged.
@jbjgibbons4 жыл бұрын
Flukemaster I could see that. I rarely fish with more than a 1/4 oz bullet weight pegged. So I wouldn’t notice the difference. But I will say, you have to be careful to buy the right size. Some are for 2-6 lb test, some 8-12 lb, and then 12+ lb test. So I bought the ones for “medium” sized line. The brand was Drchoer Fishing and I got 600 for $5.99. They have them for small, med, or large diameter line. I think they are at least as good as the BPS brand.

How do you feel about fans watching from a boat? At a respectable distance of course. Good luck on the coosa! Looks like the current is gonna be strong, awesome conditions for this lake.

That would be pretty cool but I'm fishing a spot where a boat would get stuck before he made it to me. I also need to stay completely quiet which means no trolling motor or fishfinder noise at all.

Awesome video Gene!! What brand and type hook are you replacing your mustard EWG grip pin hooks out to? Also when I first watched your mojo rig video I had thought you had said to use 1/16oz mojo weights so that it stays on top of the grass better and that 1/8 was to heavy, did something change? Thanks again for all the great tips I really appreciate it

Nope. I called them 1/8 but they are really 1/16.

Why not get mold sand make a sand mold of your true tungsten weights. Get other tungsten weights melt them down and make your own?

the melting point of tungsten is 6,192°F. That's the highest of any element. The cost of the equipment to do that isn't worth it.
