Nice video and showcases the Maxel Rage beautifully. I'm the NZ Distributor for Maxel and have made some explanations here. The Rage series is designed for Slow Pitch jigging in the Japanese market. In Japan, anglers can jig down to 900m which explains why the capacity for this R60H is in PE2. Also noteworthy, is that the drag is detuned because of its light line use. There is a second strike position on the lever drag crescent too. The Transformer F60H has the high drag cam but not quite as blingy.

These reels made for slow pitch jigging like the Rage and the JM reels before them are just cool. Not sure they're made for fishing heavy line or stout rods like most here in the US do. There's no reel seat clamp because the slow pitch rods are tiny in diameter. The PE2 and 2.5 rating is because guys in Japan, and elsewhere, fish 300 meters or more sometimes and really utilize drag when fighting fish. Awesome reel, not sure how well it fits most fisherman here, but it's badass.

Generally that is a result of the antireverse clutch getting contaminated with grease or oil. Or heavily greased clutches whose internal springs are wearing or losing their spring tension. @tackle advisors what’s wrong with a spinning reel if it makes a noise only when line is on the rotor?
@TackleAdvisors5 жыл бұрын
Usually it's the line roller bearing in need of cleaning and replacing....Very common especially in the salt. Less common would be the pinion support bearings needing replacment.....as a load is put on the line roller it tries to distort the axis of the rotor....sometimes it's enough to impact damaged parts of the bearings......Line roller is the most common problem

@Ale Grarsio yes pretty much the same inside as Transformer but the Rage has 2 strike drag positions on the drag crescent. Also R25 and R60 have mild drag cams for light line use.

@TackleAdvisors5 жыл бұрын
Easy.. You don't lol. Wheel man has a job to keep the Angler at the same position to the fish. And the Angler has to put constant pressure otherwise if the Angler is resting... The fish is resting... And Tuna recuperate faster than humans lol... Vascular systems like race horses

Check out the Avet reels. USA made, JX Raptor model. Similar weight (24 oz.), 2 Speed! 6.0/1 and 2.8/1. All aluminum, great drag - 28/38. Cost is $467 - rage is 769!! Much better value.
@chrisbcsenterprises91395 жыл бұрын
The Rage series is Maxel's flagship. You can get the same performance from the Transformer series or cheaper still - The Ocean Max series. Unsure how the $'s compare against the Avets but you get the same Maxel quality with twin drag performance.
@funnyman28283 жыл бұрын
Hahahahaha! Raptors can't fish half as much drag. They suffer from a horrible "pull" mechanism. No instant anti reverse so you have to deal with the *clunk clunk clunk* while jigging. You also get a 2 speed which is useless for jigging. You have never jigged a day in your life.
