Do you add an inline switch for your GPS's? just wondering because I'm having trouble with my unit in the front. Thanks for your time.

To be honest bud, I don't even use my GPS as I don't fish large enough lakes. I pretty much know where the spots are at and mostly just use the sonar and of course down and side imaging.

You got your boat looking sick! Now just need a red power pole. Haha love them ram mounts though only thing I don't like about them is they get so tight when you loosen them they don't let go of the ball.

Not 100% sure but I think behind the bow panel has a fused accessory power to hook up your electronics and you could drop your transducer wiring down off the trolling motor and bring out just enough behind the depth finder leaving the excess under the bow panel and bring the power supplied wiring out the same area as the transducer. Just a thought.

Awesome, I really want to install the easy troll! Also what is the black material that you used on the gunnel of the boat by the trolling motor head? Thanks man!
@TackleJunky8110 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cole!! I was out the other day and that Easy Troll Tray is soooooo nice!!! The black material is a non-skid traction tape. I got it at Bass Pro and I have it on my trailer fenders as well, just to kind of protect it against rock chips, etc. Thanks for watchin!!

Good looking boat. I just got a 2019 and they come with 2 graphs but I want to add an additional two. I am completely confused on where to wire the fuse box. On each end of the fuse box under the consul there is a spot for positive and one negative. They already have one red wire running to the positive and one black wire running to the negative. Could I add more than just this one wire? For instance, Could I add an additional two negative wires to that wire that already exists? Both on the positive and negative side? Or is there a spot on the fuse box that I can wire into? Also I’m not sure how to add a fuse to it. If I just ran a mainline fuse with that be OK? But
@TackleJunky815 жыл бұрын
To be honest I'm not sure on how many wires you can add. My panel had some empty spots pre wired and all I needed to do was add a fuse.

Hey could you tell me some of your favorite setups like what rod and line? I need some good setups. Like what to use for shakey head rod or jig rod or pitchin and flippin rod stuff like that
@TackleJunky8110 жыл бұрын
I just did a vid on my 6 must have rods, check it out. As far as line goes, I like Suffix Siege for mono, Seaguar InvisX for floro, and for braid you can't beat Sunline FX2 and SX1. Getting ready to do a VERY similar install (999 HD SI / RAM HD mount on a 2010 175 TXW). I have not pulled my boat from storage yet so I can't determine if bolting my RAM mount in the same spot as yours is possible? I read the comment below regarding the screws backing out. Can I get under the deck from there via the angled deck cover to bolt through?
@TackleJunky819 жыл бұрын
Matt, I bolted down the Ram Mount the other day and I was only able to reach that spot because I removed the EZ Troll tray to access that area. Without it you wont be able to reach. Even if you remove the front panel the rod tubes will be in the way ( I removed mine) but even if they weren't you still couldn't reach that spot.
@matttitus29989 жыл бұрын
TackleJunky81 I need my rod locker so the tray is a non-starter... Any advice on screws to use, pre-drilling? I figure perhaps using a bit of silicone may help keep the screws from loosening?
@TackleJunky819 жыл бұрын
I would still use a 1/4 inch, but use a screw not a bolt since you can't reach underneath. Definitely stainless screws. Pre drill with a bit a little smaller than the screw you use so the screw will bite into the wood.

how did you mount the bottom mounting plate to the floor? bolts? if so where did u access thru to the underside to get the nuts on? im adding one to my 175 once the weather turns nice and it would be nice to know. im thinking maybe remove the troll tray and go thru that way? the wire mounting ideas are great and i will deff use that way as well on mine. thanks

Don’t the zip ties on the trolling motor shaft interfere when you deploy it? I’ve got the same Humminbird, but mounted the transducer on the transom.
@TackleJunky816 жыл бұрын
korzonas I've had zero issues with this setup.
@korzonas6 жыл бұрын
TackleJunky81 Oh, I see. My MinnKota is much older (came with the boat) and the shaft slides through the pivot, so I can’t use zip ties like you did. Hope to someday get a new MinnKota with ipilot and eventually a 360 transducer for my 899ci si. Thanks for the video.

Any specific reason why you ran your own wiring back to the fuse box instead if tying into the cable up front? I have a 2013 model of the same boat. Do I still need to use different fuses? Thanks!
@TackleJunky819 жыл бұрын
I could see when they installed the deck they had pinched that power wire between the supports and decking and I didn't want to take a chance using it. I believe those boats come with a 5amp fuse and Humminbird recommends a 3amp.

Planning to get one of these, how is the side imaging with the ducer mounted on the TM? same with DI? thanks in advance bro!
@TackleJunky8110 жыл бұрын
Hey Colby, to be honest the guys at BPS tried to talk me out this unit and told me to get the step below without the SI as they said it wouldn't work as well on the trolling motor. I don't believe it works any different than mounted on the transom...of course, when you make sharp turns with the TM it has to catch back up, but if you're just cruising the banks and not making sharp turns it works just as well as the one I have mounted on the transom. I fish a lake that has a lot of stumps in it, and I know where they're all at so it's nice to see them on the unit before I throw at them. I'm impressed with it. Still trying to get it all dialed in. It's hard to go out on the lake and not want to fish right away so I never get to mess with it. One day I'll have to leave all the rods at home, haha!!

What are the size of bolts or screws holding down the ram mount to the deck?? I have a 2012 txw and just bought the same setup and the holes are huge on the mounting base.
@TackleJunky8110 жыл бұрын
Next time I pull the boat out I will take a look for ya. I have the mount screwed to the deck, but I plan on bolting it down this season because the screws tend to back out from time to time.

I just bolted my Ram Mount down and used 1/4 inch stainless bolts that were 1 1/2 inches long.

i dont know how i feel about mounting the transducer on the trolling motor, that kinda limits your si capabilities do you think?
@TackleJunky8110 жыл бұрын
If you're just cruising the banks and not making sharp turns it doesn't affect it...but if you're making sharp turns with your trolling motor (no different from your outboard) it's going to take it a second to catch up. At least that's my experience with it the couple of times I've had it out so far. It was a few hundred bucks extra to have the side imaging, which I'm not sure how much I will be using it on the trolling motor, but I wanted the option. I fish this one area that has a ton of stumps in it and it was nice the last time I was out to be able to see the stumps before I made the cast. Well worth it in my opinion.
@daveyboy890710 жыл бұрын
I heard that you shouldn't run the si transducer on the trolling mtr only di transducers...How is it during the side imaging when you are turning and driving the trolling mtr any problems???I just bought the 360 so I'm waiting on spring gunna be a long winter..
@TackleJunky8110 жыл бұрын
Bass Pro told me the same thing and I'm glad I didn't pay attention. It works just fine, when you're cruising down the banks and you've got some stumps and all that along side you it's nice to see where they're at and cast right to them. Of course if you make sharp turns it has to catch back up, which is no different than your outboard. If you're just cruising the banks in somewhat of a straight line then there's no issues. I mostly run sonar on it anyways, but it's nice when I'm in an area with stumps to put on side imaging and know where they're at.
@daveyboy890710 жыл бұрын
Yeah ,it was my local tackle store that sells humminbird that told me and the guy fishes tournaments and wins most of them..maybe his secret lol..I have a 798 hd di si that i run the transducer on the rear of boat then I just bought a 899 hd di si with upgraded high def 800 kHz transducer for trolling motor..Then I added the 360 bow mount haven't hooked it up yet will this weekend and can't wait but I live in illinois and its froze up here so going to be a long winter waiting on spring I may hit up a power plant lake because i can't hardly wait...Thanks for the info and nice rig..
