hey mates, on the snelled mulloway rig, why do you use a circle hook above two j hooks? Does that help keep the bait on, or does it help with hookup?

The circle on the top is common practice. It helps to hold the bait on better and you will get a solid hook set if a fish swallows the whole bait

Bigger mulloway are going to come through the shallows on edges of the gutters no need to cast so far assassin are good rods yes but have caught my best mulloway on whiting gear fishing in close

To claim they are the best surf rods is an opinion only, the best surf rods for distance casting and fishing is the Century composite rods, how do i know this i own a couple, hands down the best and that is a fact, and not made in China either like the Assassin range.

Interisting that you are the only one that knows the Century rods are the best just because you own them, that will then also only be an opinion. Long distance casting are mainly done with multipliers on Century rods designed for use with multipliers reels. The Assassins rods all are spinning reel type rods designed for long casting and easy on the body when fishing, seems to me you don't no shit about rods The grinder rods action is a lot slower then multiplier rods so easier on the body when fighting big fish Wake up and do your homework before you lay an egg
