I miss catching the king salmon and Santa Cruz, California back then it was a 11 to 3 and I always caught my limits within the first hour or close to it. I miss that salmon now we can’t fish more that sucks.

Hi guys, great vid. Planning to go north soonish so was looking for a setup for flicking plastics and hardbodies for spangos, smaller queen fish and trevally etc. would be doing it land based, I think a rod around 7’8 would be good. Thanks! (Budget is about $300)

Hey guys, what setup would you reccomend for about $300 chasing spangos up north off the beach with lures? And some good spots in Exmouth?

You shouldn’t put new bearings in old races! The west to match each other. I’d be checking them again very soon.

These are better. Aluminum construction, stainless mirrors, dive deeper and have a rattle.

Nice review. Is there a recommendation that you can make for my particular need? I travel a lot so I would like a lightweight rod that will work for freshwater and saltwater shore fishing. I was thinking a three piece rod as I was told it’s better than two piece in terms of tension distribution. Also for packing into a suit case for travel purposes. I’m leaning towards a Japan made rod. Not sure which to pick.

I have the same axles. 2yrs old and the rear seal seat was grooved. And that grease nipple set up they have is crap and lets water in once the seal leaks a little. My hubs had heaps of water inside and the bearings rusty. So i speedy sleeved the seal seat and put good marine seals in. Yours is speedy sleeved by the looks of it and has covered that grease hole so pumping with grease is useless now.. Runs perfectly now no water what so ever..

Is that an Amera Trail trailer? I thought it was 5 yr maintance free guarentee. Load launch relax they say 😅. I am having a brand new trailer built by them with lots of upgrades and a triple axel. Clearly your needed attention but I don’t get why so soon. You indicated that you’ve only done a few trips on it, I’m not sure how many miles that equates out to, but this situation has me puzzled ?
@TackleWest
@TackleWest 17 күн бұрын
Yeh it’s an Amara trail trailer but we are in Australia mate. It’s done a few trips but I guess probably enough to warrant water getting in. Lucky I checked them!

and don't forget people. If you're paranoid your bearings are getting hot on a long trip, check you tyre pressures. Too low and the whole lot runs warmer than normal.

On American trailers We always used some sika on the rear seal and front cap to help keep water out. Those rear seals are useless at keeping water out. Any little thing helps

How much better is the Saltist MQ over the BG MQ? It’s almost $100 difference depending where you buy from. Not a fan of that bright blue though 🤷‍♂️
