Great ideas for the stones, closet and pond. I'm only 4'11" so the closet rod pull-down option intrigues me since I don't use the shelves above the rods Tiger and Ralph are so cute trailing along with you and Chase.

So glad at this moment your video post is only 10 days ago. Plenty of time for you to correct your landscaping mishap. The juniper trees in front of your house are TOO CLOSE. You need to plant them at least 4-5 feet AWAY from the house. Several years from now when they grow larger, so will the roots, which will grow under your foundation, Crack the concrete and possibly cause structural issues. I'm 66 now, but was raised in nursery and landscaping. Hope this helps.

Suggestion: I don’t know how much rain you get in Oklahoma but when you were doing the pavers diy project I noticed the rain down spout looks like it might empty into rock area, we had that and it created puddles size of small pond, so maybe think about doing what’s called a “French drain” that connects to your down spout funnels rain in a tube down under the ground and can empty out somewhere else. From what I can see which mind you is just 2 dimensional. Your pond doesn’t seem that far from house? You could run a drain that funnels to pond and empties there to prevent excess puddling water in that rock area. Just a friendly idea. Also for the sliding container in drawers. Since you don’t want to have to reach all the way to back for stuff you can move everything forward like you did and then just put a nice little block of melamine white coated wood in the gaps in the back and then you wouldn’t have to use the museum gel and it wouldn’t show and everything would be pushed forward not moving around. You could also just use a small decorative box or another organizer bin just empty or filled with something you must likely wouldn’t use but helps for the main purpose and coordinates. Like a small divider with cocktail forks or small dainty fancy butter knives, corn on the cob holders or??? But it would be in the back to push what you do use forward but still look purposeful and coordinate. Sorry for the long comment. I LOVE your videos! You have a beautiful family. Thanks for being here.
@TilVacuumDoUsPart5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the ideas! We do get a lot of rain but thankfully with the location of that downspout it slopes downhill towards front yard quite a bit so it seeps through the rocks and stone and funnels out instead of pooling up. Now we do have other downspouts going underground and out a pop up dispenser further out in the yard for other problem areas.

Ashley... just an idea to give your boys another option where to wiz. Place a boulder type rock somewhere of your choosing somewhere they can call there own so they know they can relieve themselves anytime they go outside. I learned I had to do this when my little boy was a senior he no longer desired to go for walks so I had to think of another option for him. Also... that hairy plant is called Mexican Grass all though that grass is cool, from my own experience it will come up in other places on its own, so just be aware of that! Who would have thought there's a product safe for aquatic life and it can turn the pond water blue! Thats neat!

Great idea, we have several places out in the front and backyard just for them but they seem to think EVERYTHING is free game lol.

Don't dig out the "hair" yet in your garden. Cut it way down and give it a little Miracle Grow. Mine did the same thing. they went dormant, but then they started to turn green. You may have grabbed an annual grass, or you might be lucky and find out it was a perennial grass.
@Leluhuba5 ай бұрын
That was my thought. Many ornamental grasses either are trimmed in fall or spring. I'm about to trim mine later today as they too are still yellow and look dead. They should start growing in green in the next couple months and be back to normal. We just planted ours late last summer, so I waited to trim them this first year. I plan to tie them back then give them a good shave.
@BettyAnn3205 ай бұрын
Yes I have several ornamental grasses and I have to give them a haircut really low and then they come back in the spring/summer 😀

I do like how neat and tidy the landscaping looks. The cedars are planted too close to the house. The brick of the house will be hot in the summer and burn the trees. I would replant them about another foot from the brick wall of your house. Not to mention they grow taller than the house. I planted 27 of these at our house and was surprised to see how large they are now just after 4 years.
@TilVacuumDoUsPart5 ай бұрын
They survived last summer great and the pros said that was the standard distance they plant every tree. I realize the further out the more they will avoid the house IF they get that tall but they still thrive just as well at this distance and don’t look as goofy not being close to the house. Thanks for watching as always!

Great tips im definitely getting those door locks! Chase did great with the pavers. I know people are going to comment about the garage scratches bothering you but i totally get it. alot of people dont understand that when you spend your hard earn money on something you care about you are going to want to keep it in great shape. In my household we are firm believers in taking care of what you were blessed with too!

Hi Ashley. Always love your videos. I have made so many wreaths and door hangings for people who have had their front doors and other house siding damaged from wreaths they have purchased before mine. Every wreath I make has a lightweight wood backing on it that holds the wreath away from the door a bit and that backing is covered with felt that can withstand heat and rain . This prevents scratching and is an inexpensive and easy DIY. As an added bonus, it helps keep the shape of your wreath and makes it easier to hang it in off-season.

I hope this doesn’t happen for you. We also have some flat edging rectangular stones like that. Unfortunately our riding mower deck is not wide enough to extend out much further than the edge of the tires on the mower, so unfortunately I end up driving on the stones a little, and eventually the stones start leaning and angling down in along the front edge and they don’t stay level. Unfortunately every few years I need to dig them up and re-level them! All of your projects look so useful!

Hi! I love your videos . At what age did you allow Liam to have his bearded dragon? My son would love one but I can’t figure out when it would be appropriate for him to have one

I think you have the wrong person. We just have Savannah our daughter and two dogs.
