Great job, very mediteranean vibes and perfectly suited to your spanish revival house. Its great to see updates done on a budget as it takes creativity and hard work not just money thrown at it. It also shows the power of paint. Small suggestion about your tiles, a jug of boiling water tipped on any little emerging weeds will kill them overnight and save the need for further weeding.

Very nice. I love it. You made everything come together. I make my own mosquito yard spray every year & have never had any issues. It’s pet & kid friendly too. Take 1 bottle of cheap blue mouthwash like the kind you get at Walmart. 3 cups of Epson salts and 3 cans of stale cheap beer. I open them the night before and pour them into a bowl to go flat. Mix it all together until the salt dissolves. Pour into a spray bottle and hit the yard all over. Choose a day with nice weather and no chance of rain for at least 6 hours. It will last for a very long time but you may need to reapply it after a heavy rainfall. I use this recipe too when camping and it really does work. I used to live on a farm and as you spray you can literally see the mosquitoes, moths etc fly out of the lawn. Have a great Summer enjoying your new chill space! Show us an update on how your gardens are doing. 😎

Such a fantastic job. Have to undertake my own back space in a rental also - no patio just a wide path but enough room for a table and two chairs and some plants - and definitely lights. I'm in Ireland so we don't get that much good weather but I love to be able to sit out when I can. Enjoy your space. You've certainly earned it. Bravo.

I was raised in Fresno, married and raised my family there. But, we moved out of CA, and we now have 80 acres in WI. I am new at gardening, my 3rd yr. My husband did all gardening in CA. Now he grows 2 huge veg. gardens, and I'm doing the flowers. I have 8 flower gardens which is a lot of work for me. My show pc. is a claw foot bathtub which I painted like a cow, and my friend made me a huge wooden head and she painted it. So cute! I have trailing petunias and it is just beautiful. Your free bench is so cute. Great job!

You are a natural gardener!! Your curation skill and attention to detail make everything you do beautiful. Wow to California, it’s just already bursting with stunning flowers, those pink flowered camellias are amazing, even your weeds are magnificent. Spring here in the NE is much slower to come. Love your Dollar Tree finds, I grabbed some wire hanging baskets and coir liners in January, they’ll be gone by now. Going to get some seeds if there are any left. You made a gorgeous space, the bench is a great piece.

I love what you created. The bench was worth reparing and painting that beautiful blue. It looked like a hell of a job to sand but you did it. The stripey cushions are lovely, and the umbrella. I could mention everything so I will just say well done, you made your courtyard look amazing. I could totally chill out there and have some quiet time, read, relax. Or chill with a margarita in summer, eat nice snacks and food, listen to nice music, chat and laugh with friends. It is cozy, inviting, stylish, and peaceful. Great job. Over here in UK we use a lot of wooden fencing 6'x6' and I painted them blue, it was fantastic for colour and a backing to all the green shrubs

As a stay at home-work-dog mom of six dogs and a cat (she’s basically a dog at this point) I would love to do something similar to my horrid bathroom and horrendous patio deck. I live on the intercoastal, and 10+ boats come by everyday.. everyone and their mom can see that “deck.” I call it the haunted area, but it’s hard to find the time and money so these vids are perf. The pups have their little balcony with their fancy faux dog grass, but not enough room even though they’re tiny devils. Thanks again for making content for us viewers 😭♥️

I really love it, one thing I do not like is a uniformed back garden. It’s got your own personality in it, looks homely and definitely Got a Mediterranean look/feel to it. I go to Spain and italy Greece It’s so reminds me of the cottages and villas I’ve stayed in and have family that live there in Italy it’s lovely, mine in UK is similar as I copied from Mediterranean yards and gardens.

Overall, it’s fab! I love almost everything you did; the rug is stunning, and the green and orange combo is one of my favorites. I just wish you’d kept the bench a shade of green or a coral. The blue feels like the third wheel on the date.

ah thanks! but that’s not my style 😊 I think a shade of green would have been too matchy matchy for me, and coral isn’t my thing (in design/but clothing wise i love the color!). You did an AMAZING job with the makeover. I’m obsessed with the long bench, it is gorgeous. I noticed a bit of separation between the arms & the back. You may want to consider getting Bondo or a similar high density wood filler. Simply apply it, let it dry, sand smooth & apply touch up paint. Then your surface is sealed so water cannot penetrate. Again, GREAT job!!!!

I LOVE the blue you chose for the bench (and I favor Behr paint). For spray paint I like Rustoleum and have had great luck with it outdoors. Fortunately both are at Home Depot - my favorite.

I am in the process of making over my sisters patio, it has been neglected for a few years. Lots of cleaning. At least she has a very nice teak patio table and chairs.. that needs to be cleaned up. Try planting some creeping rhyme between you patio pavers. You won't need much to start with as it will "creep" or spread, it is tough and can be walked on and smells good too. Before winter, dig a few pieces with roots and pot up. If you lose any outside over winter you can replace it with what you potted up.
