It looks so much better already Mark. I’d definitely go for concrete with those roots underneath or they’ll end up in your shed!

I couldn’t believe the roots underneath. I tried to dig as far as I could, but then you get to a point where you have to stop 😀

Thanks Ali. It’s crazy how bad the roots can be. I’m sick of them all now, but getting there slowly. We had more rain and frosts - a lovely combination. Thankfully no snow forecasted yet - so you better keep the snow if you get it!

If I were you I would check your site rules to see if you are allowed to use a concrete base for the shed. On our site we are not but it could be different for you. I think paving slabs are the best option and they are movable and best of all free. Great progress so far 👍🏻

Thanks, a few have said the rules might not allow concrete. I’m leaning towards paving slabs , as like you say probably a better option and hopefully will keep the roots down.

You may need permission to use concrete so perhaps check with council first. But concrete sounds best 👍

I didn’t think about needing permission - good idea to check.

You have done so so well. Digging out can be soul destroying but be proud of yourself. Come summer and you’ll be looking back with a brew reaping the benefits. 🤎

Thanks for the lovely comment. I hate digging with a passion, but it has to be done.
