Taco Bell guy here. Basically these nuggets are just bite-size versions of the tortilla chicken tenders from a while back and they are supposed to look like that(even our training card has them like this, commercials just gussy up everything). Fresh out the fryer they are moist and lighter colored, but the longer its been since then, the dryer and darker they get since they sit in a hot metal box. Definitely worth trying at least once and after that it just becomes a matter if you liked them or not. If you just want the sauces, you just get them individually anyways. Also if you order in dine where you can wait 4-6ish minutes longer, you could probably just ask for them to drop fresh ones. Not a guarantee that they'll do it since it depends on how long ago they were prepped already (ie only 5 minutes since they've been pulled means they are still pretty fresh), but there's a good chance they will since its not a big problem. (Pro-Tip: Don't ask for fresh ones in Drive-Thru. There's a timer there and there's a chance they'll say they can't in order to keep that down since they take so long to fry)

@@WinstonPoptart Good. Surprisingly good. In the video he got some that he said looked burnt, and they were a lighter color than mine, so I got nervous. But, after trying them. They’re frankly fantastic. A little tiny bit spicy, a bit of corn chip flavor in there, the meat is soft with a supple texture. It’s really, surprisingly good. I can’t stress how surprised with their quality I was, especially given my local Taco Bell’s reputation lol

I’ve now had these a few times: if you eat them fresh they are the best fast food nuggets on the market by a wide margin. If they are not fresh it’s food that can be consumed, nothing more.

I think these nuggets have a high ceiling and a low floor depending on if you get a good batch. I have to say I when I tried them I found the meat to be much more attractive than the usual chicken mystery mush that most fast food establishments use to shape their nugget. I found it similar to a restaurant style chicken tender. That’s what you get though when you go fast food! Never quite know what you’re gonna get unfortunately. Another great review sir!

I tried these when they were being tested in my region. They weren't burnt, but they were very overcooked and chewy. Never bothered trying again. The chicken reminded me of the fried chicken taco. Good luck getting them cooked correctly.
