Taco Moto Co. KTM EXCF Tidy Tail

Installation steps for the Taco Moto Co. Tidy Tail light unit and accessories for the 20+ KTM EXCF bikes.
If you have a Husqvarna or a 12-19 EXC see the videos specific to the installation of those kits.
Tools needed: 8mm socket, 6mm socket, Phillips screw driver, small pocket screwdriver, and about 20 minutes.
*A note on the brake light pulsar, in the video we activate and release the brake light 3 times.
When the brake light switch activates the pulsar flashes the light fast, then slow, then the glows constant until the brakes are released. A re application of the brakes will trigger the same fast then slow then constant light sequence.

Installed light kit, flasher relay and enduro plate kit in 20 minutes. Sooo much better looking than the oem. The only thing different on my 21 350 excf was I had 5 6mm screws holding the oem taillight housing to the under fender.

On the front fork LED Wraps, do those stay on the whole time the bike is running? Like running lights? Or only when the turn signal is engaged? It seems to emanate a lot of light that would be annoying during night riding. The top of the fender and the grill guards would be constantly glowing. Are there two wiring methods to keep the running lights off? I'm getting ready to install all of this on my bike today. Thanks Mike.

im gonna order this kit the 20+ with the sicass plate holder, i dont think ill wreck the bike hard enough to need the enduro plate, but what add ons do i absolutely need for the light? has 3 add on options and idk if i need them

I have 2015 XcW 500. Not an EXC. Will factory wiring harness for XCW support the tidy tail? Or do i have to start with EXC?

I just installed mine on my 2021 EXC 500 running light works but no turn signal and no brake light, I have the LED flasher installed and ive tried it with and without all other bulbs connected, and insight on how to fix this?

They newest version does have the option to have a license plate down light. They’ve been on back order for a couple weeks but have recently started shipping.

Your website states the “Only tidy tail option without fender” will only work with the Sicass racing fender…. I’m assuming this 2020 you’re working on has that fender???? I’m just trying to clarify whether or not I need to get the option with the fender or not. -2018 KTM 500EXCF

Just installed on a 22 exc 500. Right rear blinker is working but not right front. Left front is working but not left rear, anyone have a solution?

Why did you replace the screws and spacers for the brake light with the latest kit? The new ones are super long and skinny. They seem quite unsturdy even when completely tightened.

Does the brake/tail light turn off when using the turn signals? Pa law states: The stop lamps shall not be combined with turn signal lamps unless arrangement of switches or other parts are such that the stop lamp is extinguished when turn signal is in use.

Yes, prob sat or Sunday release. This video will suffice until then. Steps are pretty much the same

Very nice, Pretty cool, but in lot of places, signal lights need to be about 8 or 9 inches out from the center of the bike for inspection. What you do after is up to you. You also have to remember what it looks like to other drivers when they see this, they might not know what side of the street you are turning to, or if its even looks like a signal light at all.

I just got it installed tonight but haven't ran it. I did install it in the front however I'm wondering if I need to convert all my bulbs to led or if I can have the rear only as led...time will tell I guess I should of checked that first 😅 oh well may be upgrading everything

Yes, mine did. '22 500 exc-f. The license plate is illuminated by white leds on the bottom of the tail/brake lamp assy.

I have a 21 500 exc . It doesn’t shut off with the kill switch . Is that normal because they have a tip over sensor ?

Dude! I have the same problem with my 2021 FE501S. Please comment back here if you manage to get it fixed. My dealership has had at least two that have this problem. They're not sure why it's happening, and they're doing some research for me at the moment.

@@skinnybricks there is a wire coming from your kill switch that needs to be plugged into the white wire behind your headlight

@@scottc4433 Thanks. I figured it out too. The bullet connector that has the white/grey wire was the one it needed to be plugged into. Who is making this mistake you think. The dealer or KTM? I think the EU diagram is what they were following because the US wiring diagram is pretty clear about what wire it's plugged into.

You probably need the flasher relay they sell

There’s a ground wire kit I installed and it solves it. It replaces the bulb in the turn signal indicator and has a wire to ground. Simple fix but another $35. I assume you also replaced the flasher relay for led bulbs.
