This video details the typical build sequence of a Factory Five MK4 Cobra kit car from kit delivery to licensing. The video also details custom modifications & additions I chose to make. Some parts I used for my build
* Ford Explorer 5.0 H.O.
* Tremec T5
* GT40P cylinder heads
* Ford 8.8" solid rear end axle
I hope this video shows the average DIY'er they can take on a project like this and succeed! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think and thanks for watching!

Love the AC Cobras...I want to get a kit and start it soon. Due to the often-terrible weather we have where I live, I'm going to have to look into a Hardtop model, though. I know Shelby actually had a hardtop in 1963 (well, AC Cars did, and I've seen more-than-one kit that sported the hardtop).

Any SBF/SBC only benefits from a split duration camshaft and 232/234 @0.050 is perfect on a street motor. Once you creep over 236 or so vacuum becomes a real issue so I don't think you could have picked a better cam :) Wilwood makes good stuff too

@@TacoJoe You need to install a valet key, or some kind of rev limiter before you let a young person drive it alone, if I had that car when I was 16, I don't think I would have made it to 17. Beautiful car, great work, I was nice you got the family involved. Why does the gas tank have that big bump in it?
@TacoJoe

Great idea / agree with everything you said / it’s crazy how fast the rear end will come loose on this thing! Bump is (I believe) so there is enough room for an electric fuel pump on the pickup side (it’s an OEM Fox mustang tank) - I could be wrong however / maybe someone on the KZbin community can help here

For wiring, I really only have bosch relays for the starter / ignition / horn / cooling fan and fuel pump - everything else is basically a switch to ground. As for the gauges / got them online at Speedhut (search for their website) - they have sets and you can even customize the look if you like. The wiring i did isn't too hard, just takes patience and planning. Thanks Sebastian-
