I love that you scrap and save the earth. I just moved out of my house of 16 years and scrapped as much as I could. I only got 11 dollars but it was a full van of stuff. My kids were like it wasn’t worth it but I said it was just to keep it out of the landfills. I knew to do this coz of your channel. Thanks.

Hi Taco. I had a creative thought, would do this myself if I had one. The firepit, appears decorative. Soooo, if you are inclined, you can paint it with Rustoleum, emphasizing the pattern. Then you can fill it with potting mix for flowers or a compost/manure mix for veggies. You have depth there for either type. I think it would be nice in your place, where you plan to put the chairs out for company, to have something nice growing ( and contained). It's quite easy, just water when dryish. I'm going to look for such a thing now. Have at it. NICE new deck, I like the color. It matches your driveway. What is that stone called?

After a week or so it’s gotten rained on & perhaps it’s taken to the trash. The good stuff is only there for seconds. Lol I’m so jealous of you guys in the eastern part of the US.

Being used to listen to Dave's rambling commentary, listening to yours occasionally sounds like a man talking to himself! Bizarre! I used to be a ward clerk on a meds-surg-peds unit, having to handle doctor's orders when they were done. We had two doctors who had a habit of talking to themselves, but I just never knew so I'd have to ask them "Should I be listening to you?" I find myself wanting to ask you the same thing...deja vu!---Always interesting to see what is allowed in different parts of the country...everything has to go into bins in my part of California. We have to make appointments for large items, or pay to have the big trucks come for specific hauls.---I was surprised I didn't hear a lot of birdsong on your travels today...

Taco, We have 3 sizes of carts in our city; rates are based by the size of the garbage cart as that’s what goes to the landfill. They call it, “pay as you throw” to encourage recycling. Sizes of yard waste and recycling carts are customer’s choice. Hydrate up and stay hydrated as you work in the heat and humidity. No College World Series ⚾️ this year. 😢 Brian (near Omaha) sends best.

Yes, the black plastic weed blocker is expensive. Sheet mulching with cardboard is better for the environment, your plants, and is cheap. It is super simple, KZbin videos abound on the topic. I sheet mulched with cardboard an entire hillside of invasive ivy three years ago. The hillside is still ivy free. My tip: Saturate the cardboard with water before applying compost/mulch on top. Yeeew.

You also have to remember although most of the interactions on this channel are pleasant, people can be very possessive of their trash, so the fast you can snag and run, the less hassles you are risking. Not to mention, the faster you collect the stuff, the higher your per hour return. Think of it as an accounting thing.

Jumping on the better stacking bandwagon after saying your bush @ home is a rhododendron with an 'n'. Now, about stacking, get some bungee cords and bungee stuff against the walls! Those screens will stay put with one 5-6 ft bungee cord. I'll restrain myself from the 'get a ramp' advice. That is probably more trouble than it's worth. Take it from the self-appointed, self-appointed, one and only Tetris-King. I've loaded the family road warrior for many road trips and always find a way to pack it all for the return trip!
