We are such a throw away society. Even 40 years ago, someone would've been thrilled to find those torn lawn/deck chairs. They would've ripped the old seat out, grabbed some canvas, or something similar, and sewn or riveted a new seat in, and been very happy with it.

Asap take the wooden slats...all of them...out of the back of the frame. Set them in the sun to dry and flip them half way along. Take the photos out FAST (they seem to be ok so far), lay them face up on some paper towels...nothing on top of the photo. As soon as the towels get wet, change them out until they quit wicking water. The photo is great and may call for a bit of research. That's the kind of thing I do in my work. Renee might be able to help you. But get that wood off of the back of the frame. PS if you reframe it with the original frame, don't back it with wood or cardboard, but save the wood slats in case the buyer wants them.

It's so refreshing that you are unlike the many other greedy and grabby trash pickers on UTUBE and the reason that you have such a large and loyal following! You are so polite, generous and thoughtful, especially compared to some of the others we have watched out there. Not to mention being such a sweet daddy to your darling Salsa❤️❗️

You could try to cover that picture with rice, rice sucks moisture out of stuff. Take a tote and some cheap rice, put the picture in the tote and pour the rice all over it. When you have done that put it in the warmest place. It even works on mobiles if you get them wet. You could probably reuse the rice again if gi e a chance to dry after.😊💕💜💕💜💕💜💕🇩🇰

The Bargain Barons up in Regina Saskatchawan buy old pictures, especially the ones in bubble glass frames, and they hang them on the walls of their vintage home. Extends the life of the people in the pictures. They also collect snap shots of long ago, put them under glass on their vintage kitchen table.

As people drag themselves out of a chair, sometimes the rivets on their jeans pocket will catch and rip the upholstery. I had a leather sofa completely ruined in this way. It did not please me. Maybe that is what is happening with the outdoor chairs.

They have side steps and one for the back bumper. Makes a world of difference. I have a Promaster not sure why they made them so high off ground. Theyre considered a commercial vehicle but to do deliveries all day would tear a body up.

Is the photo mounted on a paper frame? If so maybe you can remove the photo.... but if they are joined/ fused over the years then it’s lost. I always feel sorry for grand old photos who have lost their families. This one even had an additional photo added.the back of the picture frames is lost but maybe not the frame. Bless you for trying and showing respect for Elders past. And good for Salsa protecting his territory from perceived threats!

Use a hair dryer on soaked pieces. Warm setting, gently, until almost dry, place under flat weight to prevent curling. It would have helped to write down the address there the picture was found. The house probably has a connection to the family in the photo and the address would be invaluable to someone trying to trace it in the future. As far as the chairs go, the seats rip because people are SO FAT now. All those oversize fannies are just too much for the poor chairs to bear.
@ellenjefferies73104 жыл бұрын
On the old picture you need to take it all apart....I mean take out the nails, the back boards, take out the glass and clean it well. lay the pictures on a wood table indoors to dry out, you MAY be able to trim off the water damaged paper.

Always be honest and as knowledgeable as possible. Leave each item up for---?---days. The more details, the better. Pack carefully. If your photo has the colors distorted, explain the exact color in words. Give the weight of the item so you can calculate the cost of the postage IF they need to pay it. I doubt you would ever have to tell your buyer the weight, Answer any question FAST!! Good luck!

If that photo could talk.... I'd open the back and see if the water glued it to the frame. If not, pull them apart and the photo might survive. The wood if dried properly won't get moldy, but that photo's a goner if it gets stuck to the glass.
