2023 update. I am familiar with firearms etc but nobody explains the simple terms of “what this screw takes place of” sometimes you misplace the manual and other times videos skip over. 20/10 did exactly what was needed and well informed without dragging things out 🎉

if you get a 10 in 1 multi bit screwdriver by klein tools, it has that size for the nut you just pull out the screw driver bit and use it without the bit installed and then it has a flat head as well for the other screw no allen wrench unfortunately lol but might save you looking for a itty bitty wrench most times awesome video very informative thank you!

Last week I removed my Tacstar side saddle to mount a top-folding ATI stock. Couldn't find the original pin and ejector screw, so I had to order parts from Mossberg. Found out their tshirts are dirt-cheap, some at $7-$9 printed both sides. nice. Check 'em out.

flip your shells over so brass is on top, that way they wont fall out

Replace that front screw first. You don't need that sidesaddle in the way be careful there's something under the screw that will come out of place. It is pretty nice once you get it installed

I bought this same side saddle and like others who bought it, couldn’t believe how tight the shells fit!!!! The part that holds the shells is held on by three screws....so if this didn’t work it could be replaced....what I did was to take a razor blade knife and cut right down the center of each shell holder!!!!! Not sure about taking this out in the boonies,,, but my maverick is for home defense and the shells now are held nice and secure and I can even remove each shell nice and easy .... liked this add-on looks good

I just got mine, read the instruction. installed it..took about 10 minutes cause I had to put the small screw on my large magnet so it would install easier..looks great..works..i though the shell holders were rubber????/??? mine are hard plastic work fine..

I was told the more weight the better recoil control you’ll have. So I’m assuming it wouldn’t affect your aim in a negative way.

Im new to having a shotgun and just bought an 88. If you install that shell carrier, how are you going to carry the gun with a sling? Seems the carrier, facing your body, would get caught on your chest rig or other clothing. Thoughts? Thanks.

How is the saddle and the trigger pin/screw holding up? A lot of complaints of holder being too tight or loose depending on weather, and trigger pin/screw snapping when using more powerful loads.

Good question. I wasn’t too sure about that little nut. When I shoot slugs, the heat shield slides towards the end of the barrel, and I would have to slide it back and tighten it. I was thinking the recoil is too strong to add accessories on the Maverick

It won’t be wide open but there is a channel that allows for use of the bead site. I have shot both ways and have had no issue getting a solid picture.

Why is my maverick 88 the only one this doesn't seem compatible for?? The pump won't go all the way back to open in receiver because the side saddle gets in the way. My pump goes farther back than his in the video. Mine is a maverick 88. What is the deal??

I believe that there are 2 versions. Remington and Mossberg/Maveric, which will have diff installation each? I have one for my Remington 870 and it had a diff install method. I want one for my Mossberg 590 Shockwave which has a similar look to this Maveric, but different than Remington's.

We had to go down into our bunker due to tornado alert..what did I take with me: Glock 19X..Savage 88 with new shell holder..large flashlight..keys...wallet!!!!! My granddaugter saw that shell holder and immediately had to get that shotrgun in her hands for a second look..she's 14..gun familar.

Yes according to others I've seen. They say it unscrews. Thread locker will still allow it to disassemble easily as long as you don't use the strongest strength ones. Blue loctite would work great.

Not a big fan of having a bolt in place of a push out pin for the trigger group on a "combat" shotty in the field in case of dirt.,grime malfunction or otherwise needed fix.

I only plan to use mine for an Alien invasion. I doubt it will be a long drawn out "trench warfare" type of fight. Most likely be over pretty quickly - and by that I mean we'll get wiped out pretty quickly. But whatever, not going down without a fight.
