So i palm the side of the cylinder with a firm continuous press into place. Using the bottom, the heel i guess to cover the cartridges so they dont fall out. Im not a gunsmith but two of the ones i know strongly advise to not slap the cylinder closed under its own weight. I didnt ask why and i just took the advice. But using that part of my hand to cover the back so the ammo doesnt fall out is the same reason i wouldnt snap it into place like that even if it didnt hurt the revolver. It does look cool. Like the HK bolt handle slap on their roller locked series. I thought that was bad for my SP5 until I thumbed it closed thinking i was being slick and demonstrating pro gun handling beyond my mall ninja tacitcal wannabe usual and i had a incomplete bolt closure. Then i read the manual for the first time in my life. Internet outage and it was there ror the reading. It says to vigorously slap it closed. So sometimes what looks cool is legit but most times its poser. Thats the thing with guns, its easy to look like a moron doung something most people think is cool. You know i really recommend reading manuals now. I have a Walther P99AS. It is a double action to single action striker fired pistol. I assumed you're stuck with double action first shot. There is a push button decocker as opposed to a lever you usually see with pistols like that. But no hammer to thumb back. Not a deal breaker and otherwise the pistol has been impressive. But i do like the option to put a gun like that into single action for the first shot if time permits and circumstances would be improved doing so. But in the manual i found out if you draw the slide back until it clicks you now have a single action trigger with a long travel with no real weight until it stops. One more press and you just touched off a round. Not as convenient as a hammer but the ability is there. I think they put too much liability reducing safety info that results in people who know the tragedy preventing gun safety not wanting to read them. But somewhere in what seems to be neverending gun control propaganda forced on them and therefore passed on to you, there is some interesting information that will make you feel like and idiot but with benefit of freeing you of such idiot action from there on out. Thats a good thing.
