Note on zip ties, been using them in military aviation since 1978. Best to use mil spec black ones. They add something to that formula that allows them longer life in sun/weather areas over white/opaque ones. The lighter colors will discolored, turn brittle, then snap, so will eventually the darker ones but you will get a lot more time from them.....mil spec is the big key, color next and about as important. Side note, cut as close as you can flush cut dukes if possible, last thing you need is to reach in and come out with blood on a hand :) !

Wow, I've been using para cord and making a lock stitch with waxed dental floss. This looks WAY quicker and just as strong. Excellent gear tip, thank you.

I did essentially the same thing with my modern more low profile cobra belt. They DO have adapters and pouches made specifically for mounting to the size belt I have but I already had MOLLE pouches from using the older style padded belts.

I've been wanting to add a belt system to go along with my pack. This tip is great. Thanks JJ

I just use the standard ALICE clips and tie them down with paracord

What if it's a canteen pouch? Slides bad on the ALICE belt.

so, that's actually an ALICE belt or pistol belt, I'd like to know how you got it to slip into the duty belt holster because I got the same belt

I just took the belt ends off and the folded it over and pushed it through with I remember correctly.

My belt is 1.75" big and all my gear's belt loops are for 2" or 2.25" belts. Would this tip still work for me?
