Fire Team Leaders were always the least experienced and trained, yet they are closest to making contact with the enemy. Glad to see the trend is changing!

I was a platoon leader in 2/5 in the old Corps 1967-68. The combat in built up areas training would have been most helpful before 2/5s time in Hue City during Tet offensive. Glad to see today's warriors getting this training.

Can I have prescription glasses in infantry because I have astigmatism and my vision isn't 20/20
@ggamba97295 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but need to get checked out at MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station). Make sure you have your glasses with you and your optometrist note clarifying your eye sight.

@@ggamba9729 okay thanks because I want to be in infantry but I'm worried about my eyesight. When I get in the open I see things clearly but when I'm walking down the school hallway, at the end of the hallway, its blurry.

This is something I miss. Pendleton always seemed to focus on fire team first before anything else. Now that I'm on the East coast, all we seem to focus on is Platoon and above. You cannot win battles without these Team Leaders. Glad some units are still mandating TSULC.

Wow, that's crazy seeing as fire team leader's are the first leadership position within the infantry unit! We can't just expect every infantry Marine to be good to go because every battalion is different and prioritizes different things. I think this should be a Marine Corps wide thing. I also recommend the Marine Corps make a "Company Commander's Course" to help weed out retarded Lt's before they can take charge of a company, and I think we should also adopt something similar to the Army's "EIB" program to not only reinforce basic individual skills and competency before that junior Marine assumes a leadership role in the unit, but also as a "sanity check" on NCO's, SNCO's, and Officers that are returning to the FMF after, say, a three year tour on a SDA. To me, it makes no sense to just someone into a leadership position in a field like the infantry without refreshing their memory and making sure they are good to go.
