Matt, You might think I’m crazy but the Cotton Cordell Redfin wake in Smokey Joe is the very best wake on a Highland reservoir like Hartwell. I have three of the Spro wake baits in my Tackle Warehouse cart now that should do the job. Very similar to the Redfin but I figure much better hooks.

At some point can you please do a video showing how you work the different baits. Also can you show the knot(s) you use to tie those big baits on. i want to try this but I am a bank fisherman that fishes several 2o to 100 acre lakes. The idea of casting off a 75.00 bait is a little unnerving. Thanks for the Great content consistently delivered.🎣

I love wake bait fishing! Honestly I love any topwater fishing and I wish I could catch them on top all year. Luckily I live in a warm climate and I can fish topwater 9 or 10 months of the year. I have a particular pond I fish that I kill on the wake. The odd thing about it though is they are bluegill eaters and I’ve thrown several bluegill style wakes and never got a bite. I’ve done all my damage on a black OD rat with a black carbon fiber lip. I’m not sure if it’s the knock that rat has, which sounds awesome, or if it’s that seductive snaky swim it has but it flat out works. You guys make an awesome wake as well and I own one. Just haven’t caught one on it yet but I’m definitely going to be throwing it a lot this summer.

Ideas? I bought a zodias 7’2 ML extra fast paired with a Chronarch. The preeminent reason for which I bought it for won’t work. It’s EF but it loads too much in the blank and not enough back bone. First time I’m lost. I live way up north. Been targeting smallies this year because of the year / winter we’ve had. Amazing / insane. If anyone including Matt or Tim has or had a similar combo, please let me know what you had or are using it for. 13:26

I’m in MN and I want to get into Wakebaits what time of year and conditions do you throw wake baits in?
@northernbassalliance14425 ай бұрын
@@Carter-K9 where abouts in MN? Typical stuff i fish em early and late in the day. But my fabvorite time is a day where its light sprinkles and super over cast. Throw those baits over the tops of grass ans they annihilate em. I also love fall throwing a gill style wake like a UFO or throwback baits etc. Those gills suspend right on the surface over weeds in the fall. Nighttime of course is fun too throwing a big rat. But the mosqitoes get so bad its tough.
