yup. the less time out of the water is crucial. And keeping it from contacting anything dry is more important than most people realize. I've even skipped taking pictures lately. It's also really import when using lighter gear like BFS or spinning tackle. the harder they fight, the more entertainment that fish has blessed you with. But it also means they are sacrificing almost everything to do it. they definitely deserve our respect.

Yet there's still gonna be tons of assholes who lay their fish on the ground and fuck up the slime coat. Those people shouldn't fish.

Since you did a great job by recommending several swimbaits for beginners-meaning, not too $$ and also easy to throw-I’ve got 2 more for you: the Beast Coast Miyagi Swimmer. It’s a 4” bait but nice and thick, with a great top design that really makes a weighted swimbait hook lie naturally flat and virtually weedless. Can throw it on MH rod no problem. $8 for a pack of 3 and they are very durable. Gets BIT. My second is alot pricier but in 15 outings so far, I have caught fish on it every time. It’s a Black Dog G2 Shellcracker wakebait that basically works like a big shallow crankbait. It is a KILLER night lure. Can crawl it SLOW and it still causes a wake, draws fish from a long way off. $50 or so; often sold out but a few online shops do have em. My all-time confidence bait.

I have invested in a couple rigs but have not really dedicated much time to throwing the few big baits I've bought, I absolutely have crushed them on the 6" Magdraft and caught 1 giant spot on the 8" but I guess until a giant crushes that tactical wake I tend to set it down pretty quick. I know... just bring one rod! Thank you for the info, I'm not trying to go down this rabbit hole but I am sticking my head in it for sure!

I've been working on swim bait fishing for about 10 years. I've found through the years that if I use a 3/4 ounce rattle trap or a wake swim bait in the fall in a bass pattern.when bass are schooling in a bass pattern the large females will devour them in Preference to shad patterns. Occasionally I'll hook a large stripper or hybrid as well. I started wake swim baits in bass pattern because of earlier success with 3/4 ounce rattle traps in bass pattern

I for one truly believe in catch and release that's how I was taught from childhood when it came to bass fishing I love bass fishing it a challenge and it takes alot of time to get better at it but it's worth every minute you are on the lake I am working on becoming a better fishermen myself well a better bass fishermen and learn as much as possible about bass fishing new techniques and to better understand my fish on the lakes I fish on a regular yes I am a bank fishermen 100% of the time when I am bass fishing but it is still a learning experience as well

Excellent in depth swimbait video, but I was a little disappointed that you left out the All American Trash Fish. I caught a lot of bass in the early part of this year by using this bait. Now that I think about it, maybe it’s a good thing you left it out. That means less people will be aware of its effectiveness. 😁
@doublec17584 күн бұрын
Matt, good job on flexing your muscles a bit when you explained just how much experience(and RESULTS) you have in the swimbait game. Its downright comical to me when i hear a youngster talking about how you are doing it all wrong. You probably have more DD'S that the average guy has 5+ pounders. Let em' know Matt!!😂
