Been throwing the micro a rig for smallies. All 2.8s, bottom with 1/8 oz heads, middle 1/16 or 1/32 oz head, and weightless top baits. Weighs like 30 grams like this, and had a good Maine smallie come out of the water for it in November. Its as thrilling as a glidebait bite.

That's so awesome! You've got it set up so well, that's really fun to fish!

What head are you using that have those weights?
@FreedomFishing2 ай бұрын
@@richardbossman9875 They are the Mustad Double Cross nickel hook jig heads. They can bend out on a large fish, but I don't lock down my drag. I like that I can bend them out if I get snagged by slow rolling it, replace the heads as needed, then continue. They don't cost a lot either.

My easy ARig setup is the Gnius plus blades and a sleek mikey Alabama. Killed it this year in the spring. Can throw it on just about any medium heavy and 16lb test. Sinks slowly so better for shallow. Slow crawl or fast. Fairly weedless

I love throwing the mini and micro flex rigs! I fish them just like you say and they work! I'm going to have to check out the stealth rig. A lot of the water fish has some clarity to it. Thank you!

I have to get one of those flouro rigs for the sand quarry near my house. Its is crystal clear and full of double digit fish in the middle of town, so the fish are almost impossible to hook. I also want to rig a big one up behind my kayak as a dedicated teaser for trolling for strippers.

I was using Easy shiners ( 3.5” and 3” for the teasers) on my micro rig. Is this about the range I need to be is or your suggestions better and also I’m looking forward to using an A-rig this winter so what will be the best choice then?

Change is always hard, but I prefer the new sale. I order a lot of tackle and breaking it down where I have 3+ weeks to shop, is a whole lot easier than trying to remember/get it all in one day.

What about using weighted swimbait hooks (ex: flashy swimmer) as a seedless option?
@tacticalbassin2 ай бұрын
We've experimented with that a bit, and it can definitely be done. You just need to be ready to set hard.
@wizardcat28282 ай бұрын
@ thanks for the response! I just tried this for a couple of days and the smaller ones (1/8 and 3/16 oz) did not seem to have any issues but the larger bait on 1/4oz had issues. Assuming it’s due to thinner hooks on the smaller flashy weights. 18lb Fluor on the 7’7” Expride. Northern Indiana.

In my experience it doesn't work on our European species. It should work but I think I'm missing something. Spinnerbaits do work here, it's weird to me, perhaps in rare conditions. I watch all your videos so I couldn't skip this one. Keep it up please ❤
@tacticalbassin2 ай бұрын
How strange! If spinnerbaits work, this definitely will too... I'll be it has to do with speed. Try fishing one a lot faster and with more twitches mixed in... we'd love to hear if it makes a difference!
@toonvanschaik65492 ай бұрын
I will have another go at it. It might be excellent in situations I haven't encountered yet. This happened with the whopper plopper and the S-waver 168. I am not the only one that doesn't catch on the A-rig here. I have a nephew in Spain that fishes for bass, I will send him all the lures that work well on bass but not over here in the Netherlands and then follow them to catch my first largemouth ever. I have learned a lot from your videos over the years and have used it all to my advantage. 10 years ago I wasn't sure what you guys were talking about, now I am sure and use what applies to my fishing. The A-rig is that one lure presentation I broke my teeth on. I will get back to you on how I did. Thank you for your tips and support. If you see what I fish with you will see your signature in everything. Have a great day
