I'm happy for Tillman renewing at PSV. Though the Dutch League is a bit behind France in many estimations, I would say that PSV is a club ahead of most of the French Ligue and even some lower clubs in Spain, Germany and Italy. So though PSV may not play the comptetition that the top leagues do, just the fight to be in the starting 11 promotes growth.

@@isaachenry5692 Yep, a lot of people tend to think of the Eredivisie as a lower league, but I've seen some publications actually have it ranked ahead of France. Depends on the season of course.

@@robertmichaeljones yes, coming into this season, the Dutch league was ranked higher than the French league. It’s amusing that both of the league’s round of 16 participants ended up being eliminated by the same club (Dortmund). It’s pretty clear that PSG is the better team, but I’m not completely convinced that PSV and Feyenoord couldn’t make the champions league playing in France. I personally think the French league is better overall, but fun to think about.

--> Even though I'm a huge CCV fan, I recognize that Chris Richards has got to be the best CB in the US national team depth chart. Plus, he's got the flexibility to play fullback. --> Speaking of CCV, he had a very good match against Rangers in the Glasgow Derby. Celtic will 3-peat as SPL champions. I expect there will be offers for him to leave Scotland, but unless Champions League matches are on the table, I think he'll stay at Celtic one more season. --> Tac, thanks for these updates. You need to start pointing out that Tyler Adams has replaced Pulisic as the USMNT Poster Child of "Injury Prone" Star, the difference being that most of Pulisic's injuries were contact injuries from getting whacked and hacked all the time, whereas Adams seems to have this never ending problem with his back. Makes me wonder if he has this thing called spondylolysis in his lumbar spine, a.k.a. bilateral pars defects. Very common, actually in young high performance athletes who do a lot of forceful back twisting, like soccer, gymnastics, tennis - stress fractures of the pars interarticularis, usually of L5. If so, he's gonna be crocked for good.

Everyone on Milan has been hot and cold this season!!! Pick one player on the team - Puli, Maignan, Leao, Theo, Reijnders, RLC, etc. who has been consistent (other than Giroud in the first half of the season, when he was fantastic).

Yes you can say everyone in Milan is inconsistent in the season, but as USA fans you have to realize Puli is streaky and only scores against most lower teams. When you need him to rise to the challenge he is rather ghosting. Why can't we wish for him to do well against strong teams? If he is our best player he needs to show up.

@@luckymark571 What? Leao hasn't been consistent at all for Milan. He shows flashes of brilliance here and there, but then have several games where he's just OK. It took him a while to get things going this season too.

​@@luckymark571Not knocking Leao - he is the most talented player on the team and creates as many opportunities as anyone on the field, but in October to December, he played in 12 Serie A games, and had 0 goals and 2 assists. He and Theo have played much better in the second half of the season, but they still get hot and cold, and I can remember plenty of big games where Leao and others have struggled to find their game against bigger competition.

Those worried about Pulisic not showing up against quality sides. Pretty simple answer. Pioli is not a great tactician. Against Inter, he lined up Musah on the right, Pulisic on the left and Leao as a striker. Basically he changed 3 of the front 4s positions in a must win game (a win would have stopped Inter winning the scudetto against Milan). Pulisic has constantly showed to be a big match player (Chelsea, Dortmund and USA). Not something we should be concerned about. Sargent getting hurt, hurts my soul. I want this guy to have a chance to lead the line; he’s had the season to deserve that shot.

NF and a lot of bottom table teams are merely there as supporting actors in the top 5 teams movie.... the whole league is pretty much a machine whose purpose is supporting a few clubs.

Dortmund's talented team has severely underperformed in Bundesliga and the usually entertaining BVB are not much to watch either. Making a move in the winter window is never ideal- always way more difficult to find takers and difficult to integrate to a team midseason. As a loanee to relegation team whose best player is at your position? All that made it even more misguided. Barring a good Serie A or La Liga side with a specific want/need for him- I was and still am in favor of Gio staying in Dortmund.
