I had this for a few years mine cam with a rolled edge fromthe factory but gently resharpemd out the rolled metal so that wasent a problem for me and it holds tight in my plate carrier overall its pretty decent :)

Nice! I imagine if fits well because it is so thin- have you had any issues with the handle being slippery?

You could also just have straightened it back up with a wething rod (steel rod). I like to do that with my small, portable telescope wething rod, so I save material on the blade and have it thinner right behind the edge for longer. For just touching my edges up I usually just use my CC4 Fällkniven ceramic stone (comes in a leather sheath that you can use for stopping the edge after sharpening). But I can see how military personell don't like to carry additional things. Those pocket sharpeners can really be great and practical in the field though.

Cool starter knife! Do they do different steel options for the blade?
@tacticaltavern2 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe they do in some of their more premium models

I got the M16-03BS for my first CRKT, and I am loving it! I bought it for rougher use, it's robust construction (full-steel construction framelock), its blade length, its flipper for onehanded opening and its easy maintenance (since it's only 3 screws to un- and rescrew for cleaning and lubing. Too bad I can't carry it legally on the streets of Germany just like that, but I can carry it on private properties and I can transport it in a locking puch legally inbetween private properties. PS I could have done without the drop point with the false edge on the spine. Some call it spearpoint, but it is not symmetrical. But it had no other option with a regular edge, didn't want a Tanto on this one, because it's less practical for me on this one. The 03 kinda has the most normal blade shape. But the hollowgrind makes up for the most thickness of the blade being almost in the middle and not at the spine. Lets be honest, none of us will ever use it to stab through protective materials, or thick and sturdy clothes. A normal blade would do great for your edc needs and would be so much better for cutting, no need to sacrifice cutting capability for stabbing capability.

Awesome knife! Too bad for all the regulations but at least you have a quality tool! I agree with you the false edge is not necessary- especially on something geared more toward EDC cutting capabilities Appreciate you and your comment/thoughts Wishing you all the best 👊🏽🔪

@@tacticaltavern It is a great knife indeed! And I think I never appreaciated a hollow grind that much, lol. I also appreciate your reply! Good thing I've got a wardrobe for my knives, dressing for the occation.
