@@JJ-et7il The story is what kept me engaged. I've never seen a boom of strategy games quite like this. You can also throw in Front Mission, Metal Slug Tactics, Advance Wars (whenever Nintendo decides to release it), and Marvel's Midnight Sun's.

How? I beat it very quickly, there was not a lot of content compared to the psp version. The scores on steam are more telling, but also less than 2k which is a low sale for steam and a quarter of the reviews are negative. I found it a stripped down game, not a remaster.

I'm happy to see it scored well, but a bit sad to see that it has a higher score than triangle strategy. Yet another reason to not care about metacritic scores. If you search by genre on metacritic, the highest rated RPG of all time is... Divinity 2 for iOS with a 98, followed by Disco Elysium for PC at 97. These are fun games, but clearly metacritic has different priorities when it comes to rating games.

@@playername9391 Hopefully Tactics Orge does well enough to get us more remasters like it. I'd love to see FF Tactics series remastered, especially Tactics Advance and A2. Those two games are still stuck on their original systems. I still don't trust metacritic scores though lol. It's just a bunch of critic scores from people that may or may not even like the genre of the game they are reviewing. I'd much rather get the opinion of youtubers, like OJ, who I know what type of games they like.

I had to dig out my psp go in order to see the difference. I like the leveling change and the changes with the skills and items but some skills like the self-buffs feel too randomly triggered. The merging of TP and MP is kinda weird since they had to remove the MP recovery items from being sold. I feel the random buff cards are hit or miss. For one it actually creates an emergent gameplay where enemies that stack up attack buffs can become a huge threat.

I think this game physically become rare...for a few reasons: -We've seen other classic strategy RPG physical releases become rare on the Switch, such as Langrisser 1&2 (as of this video, brand new copies are going for over MSRP) -Nintendo is openly discussing new Nintendo console hardware, putting this release in the latter half of the Nintendo Switch's life -There were not many physical copies of this printed. How do I know this? I can't say with utmost certainty, but when your local video game store only gets in the 1 copy that you had reserved, that is a pretty good indication. -It release is already overshadowed by the release of a different RPG release that is close in time to it...Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet

I love every single change they made. the game is more organic now and requires more strategizing and planing. PSP version was just too easy, you could steamroll through the main story by making Canopus an archer and twoshoting most bosses. Even a final boss was a joke if you had 2-3 archers and a lobber throwing debuffs. Now the game encourages you to use every class and prepare for battles carefully.

The level cap destroys the flow of this game, and any rpg for that matter. Modern day devs telling you how to play the game is a joke and nothing more. The flow of the game goes like this. Every few battles you're allowed to level up a few levels. You 'train' get no items while doing so or goth, you set your AI and turn the speed up and you're done. Its binary and not fun. You have no option to grind and be rewarded for your invested time or grind for items/crafting mats etc etc. So now rather than the challenge be with bosses or side content you struggle basically every battle but not really as, if you're experienced with the game its stll not bad on top of no death penalty. The time it takes to lose a character is a short eternity and might as well not even exist. If anyone played the PS1 version you remember not being able to resurrect anyone until you get the Priest which took until about level 15 or so AND wasn't a cheap spell to cast. The game feels more inline with a modern action game with some mild rpg elements to them and not how a good ol' tactical rpg should feel and in this game's case DID feel across its two previous versions.
@Zeon081
@Zeon081 Жыл бұрын
level cap is unnoticeable and does not disrupts the flaw at all. the game rewards you for playing the game instead of mindlessly grind easy battles till you become too op for story content.

level cap is never an issue, grinding levels in previous versions would just scale enemies making the leveling pointless you don't need to grind for anything, money is abundant you never need to train, most of your characters hit the cap by playing the story you can transfer skills from one class to another, just not every skill FFT is a casual TO with linear story and cheesy mechanics

The game was a joke so easy that almost no strategy us needed to win. Tactics ogre has never been easy on any port. You always have to use tactics not lvl or gear to win. I love FFT but compared to tactics ogre sorry FFT is nothing but a child's play copy.
