I live in Wisconsin, USA where it gets very cold in the winter and snow is on the ground for months at a time. I find myself bundling up and riding in snow storms, cold rain and generally extreme weather because riding indoors just sucks! The ride is about adventure!

Great info but don’t forget to use a turbo trainer specific tyre! It won’t wear as quickly as your road tyre.

Can't agree more. Your regular tyre will cook and start squaring off as it loses rubber.

Can't see why anyone would recommend a 50W fan. 200W is more what you need. When you are cycling on the flat outside you are getting the benefit of a natural fan that consumes most of your power! Other than that, good video!

Great review ... can I ask a newbie question please? How does compare to using a gym type bike? Ie is it really good for leg and cardio? I ask as I’m new and don’t have the length strength yet to go out and keep up on group rides? Sorry if the answer is obvious 😊
@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE4 жыл бұрын
Not sure how it compares to a gym bike as i haven't used one. I can however say that its a good way of winter training - I'm 3 weeks into a 10 week train prior to a cycling weekend in Majorca. Its too wet or icy in the UK atm so its essential to build the miles on a trainer and then get out when weather permits. Once you have good weather i would personally always ride outside - riding with a faster group helps bring you on in leaps and bounds so long as they are not too up themselves.

VELOGPS - THE INNER TUBE thanks very helpful. I’ve taken cycling up to mix up with running (old and knees!) - I’m still a bit wary on the roads and thought riding with a group would build confidence and road sense, but finding a group with total newbies is proving a challenge because of the keeping up thing!) So ‘Rock and a hard place!’ - thanks for replying. Best Wishes and happy riding 😊

Hello VELOGPS, I have been wondering on how can I find a seller that sells the "Tacx Flow" for 150 pounds. Thank you and god bless!
@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE4 жыл бұрын
Sadly I suspect that they will be very hard to come by under current lockdown and unlikely to be on any special offers. Mine came from Halfords but they no longer seem to stock it. Decathlon are sold out in the UK ATM. Wishing you all the best finding one.

If I can ask some advice: 1. I have a Tacx Bushido. It may break soon. All I want to do is spin on a Turbo using the gears as resistance. I don't need a monitor system. 2. I want a turbo which is compact to fold up like the Bushido. The Flux is huge. I have limited space. 3. I don't want to pay a monthly fee to use an app. My Garmin watch is fine. 4. I am a complete novice and only use the Turbo twice a week in the winter max. Which turbo do I buy?. My Bushido is perfect. I wish they would make more . Thanks

Hi, I liked the video. I want to make a query, buy the flow smart and I have serious problems to connect it to zwift, I have tried all the options that zwift gives you to connect it and nothing. Zwift gives you the option for Tacx rollers model Booster, Blue Matic, Blue Motion, Blue Twist . Which of these you chose to be able to connect your flow smart to zwift without the first connect and after 4 minutes or 5 minutes stop transmitting the roller, but it is still connected, is what I can not comprehend. I'm about to think that this smart flow roller came with some factory defect. Also when you put it taxc utility, sometimes it does not detect the roller despite being connected and with the green light. Some guidance please

Can the Tacx Neo simulate resistance when riding solo versus riding within a large peloton (you are in the mid of it)? By the way, the music representasi how fun it is when using the trainer and riding in zwift.

"Can the Tacx Neo simulate resistance when riding solo versus riding within a large peloton (you are in the mid of it)?" - yes, Zwift knows how to simulate drafting and is able to do so on any smart trainer

Hi, I am planning to purchase Zwift software as an addition to TACX i-Vortex (T1960) trainers that I purchased 5 years ago. I asked at Zwift if Zwift software is fully compatible to i-Vortex ? This is their answer...."Unfortunately, the i-Vortex is not compatible with Zwift as it uses an encoded signal that we do not have access to. Only Tacx trainers using the universal ANT+ FE-C or universal Bluetooth standard are compatible with Zwift (meaning the later Vortex Smart)"Anyway, is still any chance „how to break the spell“ ? I mean if I purchase some speed sensor and get Vortex and Zwift communicate ??? I do have ANT+ so I thought there would be some chance… Or simply my Vortex has no chance to get connected to Zwift LJindrich

would this cheapest smart trainer work with any bog standard road bike with 700c wheels? sorry not a bike expert ;) i do zwift treadmill running quite a bit and this would be great in between running days to reduce the impact. cheers!!!
@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE4 жыл бұрын
Yep so long as it has a quick release rear skewer as you need to replace this with the one provided to mount it in the trainer. I have my old budget aluminium framed boardman in my trainer specifically because it doesn't need to be anything fancy.
@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE4 жыл бұрын
I also use a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor (this is more accurate) when zwifting.

Any advice for a reasonable cheap(ish) road bike to get started too?
@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE4 жыл бұрын
I started out on a basic Boardman with aluminium frame and carbon fork for around £600 (its the bike on the trainer in the video). Having grown into my hobby I now have 2 full carbon bikes - the latest being a Trek Domane SLR with Di2 (about 4.5k worth of bike but I paid 1.8k 2nd hand for a bike someone had bought in the wrong size and only ridden 400 miles). There are bargains to be had 2nd hand if you know what you are looking for and put in the legwork. There are however so many variables to your Q its hard to answer here. Best of luck.

Mate please respond, got this exact trainer and i dont think. The fuse was in the plug, because when i plug it in absolutely nothing happens. What are your thoughts ?
@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE6 жыл бұрын
If you've just bought it and don't get any light on the side of the roller unit then take it back and exchange it for another. When I bought mine it didn't have a power lead in it when i opened it so i just took it back to exchange for another unit - making sure i opened the box to check it was all there first. I'm several months into using my setup and finding it infinitely better than just training with a normal turbo trainer.

which one your recommend the Tacx Satori or Tacx Flow? Pls.
@feketetv5 жыл бұрын
The Flow. The Satori does not adjust the resistance on it's own, so you don't feel the gradiant changes you see in-game (unless you change it with the remote thingie).

@VELOGPSTHEINNERTUBE4 жыл бұрын
No

No, THE TACX has a build in Power Meter. The only thing I have add is a Blue TACX tire (on a spare wheel 100PSI) less power loss and less noisy.
