I've been getting the same issues as to what you are describing around 4min into the video, I've always used my P2 powertap pedals instead because my power measurements from Flux 2 is so much lower than actual power output. Now that my pedals are for service and I need to make use of the smart trainer power, ive noticed again how big the difference is. I need to drop my FTP by 10-15% to be able to complete my workouts. And like you say the higher the power output needed, the bigger the difference. So doing threshold stuff is okay, but going higher into z5 type short intervals it becomes impossible and I need to drop my FTP even more. Where as when I'm using a powermeter it works out perfectly and I JUST manage them (like your supposed to). I've tried finding ways around it or fixing it, but only way for now is to use a powermeter instead. It's pretty annoying though because I sometimes want to use a different bike but then dont have the powermeter, and must make use of the flux 2 powermeter which is so far out that it makes training and tracking the training extremely hard.

I’m using the Flux2 for five months now. It makes some squeaking noise when it’s cold, but it’s not getting worse over time. I indeed doubt if the wattage is accurate. I have a 4iiii Podiiiium single sided powermeter, which of course is no solid comparison. The 4iiii shows in average around 20-25 watt higher power output. For consistancy I use the 4iiii on my Tacx as well as when I’m riding outdoors. I’m waiting for a software update to reconsider the use of Tacx wattage versus my 4iiii.

Well I'm on my 3rd on in 10 months and each one had a different issue. This last one was messed out of the box, makes a gurgling sound that cuts through loud music, and the erg mode is laughable. The previous the erg was pretty good but there was a dragging rubbing sound coming from inside the unit. I think there should be a wide spread recall on these, check the horror stories on the Facebook user group. Did I mention the smell at first yikes!

Just joined the UK owner’s group after receiving my Flux 2 a couple of weeks ago. Massive issues with ERG mode and spikes in resistance on steeper gradients. Power also seems way off making it impossible to complete workouts. Mate with a new Flux S having similar issues. Should have stuck with my cheap wheel mounted one :/

Hello, ,Do you think SmartTrainers are a good option for Weight Loss? If you could only have one, would you purchase a Direct DriveTrainer, a Bikeerg or a quality Spin bike.Thank you ..Interested in everyone's opinion.
@RB-er4nf2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it could be a good option but you should keep your heart rate low (approx. 70 % of your max. heart rate) during the training. It also means that you have to do long trainings if you want to burn enough calories to weight loss.
@danielriechers28914 жыл бұрын
Have you considered that there are performance losses over the chain? The power at the pedal is automatically greater than at the cassette because of these losses. This also explains the differences between the chainrings. Or what do you think?
@SmartBikeTrainers4 жыл бұрын
I do account for location of the powermeter but that should only be 1 or 2%. Also, it doesn’t explain why it’s ok in sim mode but not erg mode. Measurement should be the same regardless.

What would you buy, a flux 2 or the magene gravat 2? Both available here in Taiwan, but I am worried about the accuracy on the flux and it's reliability. That being said, there isn't too much about the gravat, but it's really quiet. A side note, I do have Assioma power pedals. 😀😀😀

I still have the original Flux but swaped it out for the CycleOps H2 this winter. A world of difference. I'd sell the Flux but there were so many problems associated with the introduction of the Flux that I'm hesitant to pass it on to someone else. It still functions but not without issues. And I was able to purchase the H2 for $100 less than the Flux 2. Win, win. It will take more than a Garmin purchase to intice me back to Tacx.

@SmartBikeTrainers4 жыл бұрын
Depends. But, I would go with the 2 regardless if you are looking to get a Flux. But if you are looking to only do workouts in Erg mode, then that 10% should be more than enough. But for riding in sim mode and climbing, I would go with more incline.
