@@jaycarr590 Thank you for your comments to the video. Firstly, the video doesn't show suburi ( repetitive individual "swings" of the jo or bokken) but rather a series of movements or kata that make up one of the kumi jo that Tada Sensei devised. His "relaxed" style helps in learning the form but a more energetic or dynamic version of parts 1a and 1b together can be seen in the following video. Remember when the video was filmed he was already in his late 70s and today he is still very active at 91/92 years old. The movement encourages an awareness of timing, distance and their relationship to practice without weapons.
