She’s also one of the few characters (if not the only one) in Yamai’s group to be kind to Tadano. However, the vibe I am getting is that Onigashima only tolerates Tadano. She’s only nice to him because he is a human being (still a step up from all the others in Yamai’s group)

Well, so far, we don't know much about Kishi Himeko (the girl in the knight's armor) who is also part of Yamai's friend group. It could be that she likes (or at the very least, tolerates) Tadano as well. It could just be Yamai who has a problem with Tadano, especially with him getting closer to Komi.

@@demonking86420 Well, considering how popular she is (and also because she is technically the leader of the popular girls clique in their class), plus she usually commits all sorts of antics and gets away with it, I'd say probably not. If there's one thing I know about Japanese culture, it's that social hierarchies are paramount, even amongst classmates. And aside from Komi, Yamai Ren is basically the Queen Bee of the class. Her friends would basically be powerless to stop her. Although, Yamai is smart enough to avoid Akako Onigashima when the latter gets angry. You wouldn't like her when she gets angry.
