While they overall enjoyed what they made, they do regret not doing better with their characters at first, but really like how their personalities turned out in the very end. It honestly makes sense that a comedy writer would be a bit inconsistent or lean too hard on certain crutches towards the beginning, trying to find that right recipe for how a should behave under certain circumstances can be rather difficult, especially when the series is built around structured chaos.

It seems this power has transferred to their children too. 1. Gumball, he breaks the laws of physics every other day. His influence even helped Darwin grow legs and legs in seconds. What makes me laugh is that the entire Waterson family can take over the universe if they wanted to. Nicole - Can turn into a demon, a god, a force, can tear down reality by force and will. Richard - An unmovable object that can make everything collapse into oblivion just by having a job and that was indirectly, can go crazy for seeing a chunk of meat and made a school turn into mindless zombies just by hugging them. Yeah. As people have said here that he and Nicole cancel each other out as the unstoppable force vs the immovable object. Nicole’s the hardworking smart lady who’s kind of angry sometimes and although Richard isn’t the smartest, he’s really sweet and will do what it takes to keep his family safe and happy. I guess after having parents with such high standards, Nicole found peace within Richard. Richard in turn, got the right stimulation in his life that he never got from his mother. It’s a really sweet premise.
