I did TKD from 2000 to 2015. Since then I did judo and other martial arts. Most people say that this is more fight-y or real than current TKD. I just want to remember you that any form of striking sparring that has no punches to the face is not realistic. Any of this guys, as hard and tough as they are, would last 30 seconds against a trained boxer. Said that, it is undeniable that this looks more entertaining than leg fencing.

imagine leg fencing with one of these guys while they are waiting to slice you in half with just one kick, and then ref stops the fight to check on camera to see if it was 2 or 3 points. Wtf today is pointless, maybe sport for girls, i dont have anything against that. Old school tkd had a martial art element wich made it serious, guys could spar with thai boxers and kyokushin fighters with little adjustment and not get beat up. Imagine todays tkd black belts sparing with thai boxers, better not. Sorry for bad english.
