Maybe - though they are two very distinct artists with a well defined personality, story and artistry - it would be more correct to say that we can see some traits of Taemin in Jimin. Though Taemin is only a '93 and Jimin a '95, Taemin debuted eith SHINee in 2008 at age 14 and they quickly became famous as all incredibly talented. By the time Jimin became a trainee and then debuted with BTS, Taemin was already a role model for young idols including Jimin (whose role models were Taeyang of BigBang and Taemin). Frankly I don’t see the reason of constantly mentioning Jimin while reacting to Taemin’s song. Both are friends, yeah, and that’s about it. Also Taemin is not an “apmlified” version of anyone. His artistry is truly one of a kind and it’s much deeper than just being sexy or dark. I wish people who react to Taemin would truly focus on him and his message. Why waste your breath. He is army which he has the right to be. He even has a special KZbin called "DT Parker's Jimin Reactions" Which tells all. So let him criticize all he wants & admire Jimin over Taemin... doesn't make the Facts of History of Taemin change. Everyone has their own personal lover in KPop... some a little more intense of one kpop idol than others. He had already expressed from the beginning that Taemin lost to Jimin... even though it wasn't a competition. However, just let him feel better about it. Taemin is 16 years STRONG in this game, he’s long surpassed the idol title. He is an Artist. I believe it would be correct to say, as Jimin has intimated that it is Taemin and Teyang who inspired him. And certainly over the years of their friendship they’ve inspired one another. This is Taem’s genre and it isn’t for the faint of heart or those who don’t want to extend their thinking beyond typical Kpop. You focused on the “ sexual” component of the video, yet, clearly didn’t understand the under current story. It is not about sexual energy. But a typical person would think that. Salute!

I love Taemin and am still getting to know him. His dancing is mesmerizing and imo unmatched. I mostly connect to art from dance. He has an intimate knowledge of pain, which I don’t understand. His Killing Voice on Dingo was a surprise to me at just how fantastic his singing is. I had heard his voice wasn’t great and that was a mistake. He’s delightful, charming, and highly charismatic, but there’s a storm near him and it seems like we can’t really see it. I just feel a pressure change when he’s on screen. There’s something about him and if this were fiction, maybe he’d be a vampire. He’s extremely productive, funny, attractive, and to cheer myself up I watch yt videos of Taemin trying English or Taemin finding love for his manager

Have come across BTS fans comments that Jimin's dancing got better after they became friends and as Jimin has been inspired by Taemin yes they are similar in some ways. For title tracks Taemin likes concepts that make us think, question and feel even if it makes us uncomfortable. From what I've read about this MV it's about a toxic relationship however , what's interesting it's like Taemin is singing the part of the abuser and dancing the part of the abused (until he breaks free) is it a toxic relationship within himself? Brilliant!!!

I love Taemin so much. He is truly one of a kind. And a huge inspiration and a role model for many talented idols including Jimin. So it is not surprising that Jimin and Taemin are similar somehow. If you had watched all the challenges of Taemin with other artists and not just Jimin, you could find a few more pretty similar to him with movements and charisma. It is funny to see that you so afraid to say that Taemin is better, without any dirty add. Taemin's style look alike Jimin's cause Taemin is Jimin's role model, and they have a similar fluffy behavior in real life. Jimis is a lighter and innocent in expression because he's still learning and finding his authentic style while Taemin already find and figure out most of his unique line in life at the same time. Taemin and Jimin are completely different in my opinion. Their voices, styles and mannerisms are different. Yes, they both play in a gender-neutral style. But Taemin is that person, first of all, he is a pioneer in his field and he is the one Jimin and many other idols look up to. Therefore, the similarity is that many Taemin are inspired and imitate him. But Taemin’s artistry and creativity is so impressive and amazing, he is not only a wonderful singer, the best dancer, the best solo man, but he is first and foremost an ARTIST, writing history with his creativity. I appreciate Taemin and Jimin's friendship. I would just like to remind you of the source of this gender neutral style. I think it's more like Jimin is like Taemin, since Taemin came first...lol. This song is conveying A LOT and it's not all about sexuality per se, but Taemin's internal struggle and the fine line between good and evil that he is constantly treading while being a celebrity. Some things we need to always think about when interpreting Taemin's lyrics: 1) The simplest explanation is NOT the true interpretation (opposite from the philosophical argument of Occam's razor). 2) Taemin is deeply into philosophy and regularly explores various world philosophies. 3) Many of Taemin's lyrics are directed inward to his psyche and history, spanning across a storyline illustrating different philosophies as his concepts for each song. 4) Using those philosophies along with religious symbolism, metaphors, and allusions to illustrate their conflict with his Christian faith. So, when putting all that together, we need to look at all the details to figure out the deeper, true meaning behind the surface reading of the lyrics. In short, this is not a toxic relationship between a couple. It's in fact the continuation of his struggle between the the two egos in his mind: the demon tempting him with the perks of his celebrity life clashing with his Christian beliefs desiring to adhere to his Christian worldview. As Taemin has indicated, this story of his personal conflicts also plays out in his MVs/songs for "Want", "Famous", "Criminal", "IDEA" (in fact the entire "Never Gonna Dance Again" Acts 1 & 2 albums), and "Advice". For this particular song/MV, Taemin indicated that he researched both "Demian" by Hermann Hesse and ""Erotism: Death and Sensuality" by Georges Bataille, a French philosopher. His concept is that of guilt and how humans process their guilt. For Taemin, this is displayed through the character he plays of Abraxas (depicted wearing a headdress; gnostic demigod of a heretical sect, the Basilides, later referred to as a demon). However, Taemin also plays the character of himself being tormented by this demon who constantly plagues him. The entire song is a dialogue between Abraxas and Taemin. During the dialogue, Taemin is struggling (the choreo) to fight off being possessed and swallowed by Abraxas. We see Taemin walking through institutions of his memory such as a school (which, as an introvert, he hated), hospital/mental institution (brainwashing), and training center (SM?), always being controlled and in situations that produce temptations to go against his values. While his dancing entrances and captivates me as no other, it's his lyrical and musical prowess that truly holds me spellbound, while also gratifying my desire for deeper, meaningful Christian messaging that is lacking in regular, Western Christian music. Thanks for reacting to this! I’ve been a Taemin fan for 10 years and love the dark, moody concepts he always brings. There have been some behind the scenes from Taemin’s dance challenges, and he really focuses on highlighting his guest and catering to their fans rather than himself. Regardless, Jimin looked amazing and his fans were definitely happy! Mission accomplished! The song, while it has some sexy elements, is really quite dark. Taemin and his team wanted to keep the choreography “dry” to not take away from the underlying theme so it’s more understated. Kinda like mimicking internal turmoil? Anyway, I loved this song as his first one back from the military. I’ll look forward to Jimin’s upcoming works as well. As a Taemin fan, I’m happy to support any of his friends!

LITERALLY, Taemin debuted SOLO when bts were barely debuting, he's years ahead of them and has his own color and artistry that he's been building for years, Jimin is great but he's not another version of Taemin, their both different with little similarities, both gender neutral look and concepts(that taemins has been doing for years) and their dance (jimin has a bit more experience with diff style, and they don't have the same style either just some aspects of their dance and performance that are similar)

Thank you for reacting to Taemin's Guilty mv. (As with SHINee, you'll find that the live performances are really next level, although I love this mv.) As others have and will comment, Taemin is art. He transcended the kpop genre some time ago, and we're here for everything to come. I appreciate the vocals, choreography, visuals, narrative, and the featuring of the dancers who are always an extension of Taemin in his storytelling. Taemin draws inspiration from philosophy, literature, and religious symbolism, and for this piece, he drew on Georges Bataille's Eroticism as well as Hermann Hesse's Demian. Contemporary dance was perfect to blend into the choreography. The songs on the Guilty album highlight his unique vocals. I'm currently rewatching Taemin's discography from his solo debut, and highly recommend it in your spare time.

Look at how Taemin and Jimin are dressed in the challenge. Taemin was wearing simple sportswear against the background of glamour and looked simpler and more relaxed. He just enjoyed this opportunity to be and dance next to a friend. It would look funny if he rolled in a big dose of energy and glamorous sex here. And it might have been misinterpreted. The guest shone as it should be between friends. Glamorous stylish clothes impose an image and oblige. It's not for nothing that Jimin rolled at the beginning on a friend. You can already see right away who came to glamorize, who will be dominant here and rule the ball) And Taemin in the end comfortably fooled around, ridiculously trying to raise the king, ending the game of images.

That's because Taemin understands his work better than anyone else. Guilty choreo was never meant to be sexy.When Taemin was performing it alone u could see the pain in his sad & empty eyes, that's the theme of the song. But no wonder the idols who danced with him had no clue so they took it as a sexy dance challenge like most reactors are doing & some idols even went overboard with their sexiness to dominate but Taemin goes by the feel of the song so he doesn't exaggerate his moves or expressions.

TAEMIN is currently an artist who can combine it all: dancing, charisma, performing and singing at the highest level at the same time. Some idols can sing better than TAEMIN but I'm sure they can't reach his dancing level. Some others may have a dancing level close to TAEMIN's level, but they certainly can't sing as well as him.
