@@Trzbne International fans or i-fans is too broad, doesn't work in this context. Japanese fans are ifans too. The English natives/westerners I mentioned included Chinese Japanese Korean Americans and westernized Latams SEAsians who speak English fluently. I chose the term English natives + westerners quite specifically, to describe English-speaking, westernized subset of all kpop ifans *who care about Taemin's inner qualities*, who feel strongly that 90% of Taemin is still missing in translation and mis-investment. I want to respect the fact that not all ifans care about Taemin's inner qualities. Example, non-Eng-native international fans who insist proper English lyrics translations don't matter, who conflate lyrics translations as lyrics, who defend song-destroying English lyrics... these ifans are quite common, they don't care about what the idol is really singing but their choices should be respected that is why I didn't include that subset, I speak only for specific westernized, English-native-fluency-level ifans who care about artistic depth. I hope that is clearer.

For many fans who are truly English-fluent and care about Taemin's artistry--not just his discography--the poor, often mismatched or nonsensical English lyric choices and the lack of properly translated material are a huge barrier to fully enjoying everything he has to offer. Yes, of course, we could learn Korean. And many of us do... But that doesn't change the problem. It is still frustrating to see him miss out on would-be fans due to poor accessibility (he's said himself that he wants more international fans), or to have the meaning of a song broken up by lyrics chosen for timing or for how "cool" or "recognizable" they sound rather than how well they fit within the theme and storytelling of the song. It's a problem in Kpop in general, but it doesn't have to be. There are plenty of people ESPECIALLY now that are fully fluent in both English and Korean and could fix the lyrical and translation issues.
