I have never been a Kpop fan and honestly I still don’t think I am. But I appreciate good music regardless of genre, and i must admit no Kpop group intrigued me until I heard big bang. I discovered them late in 2014. I never thought to join the fandom VIP, but I still listened to their songs, watched their contents, and Taeyang was instantly my most favorite, with GD second. Their songs are so catchy and trendy. I love a lot of Taeyang’s solo songs as well. I was lucky enough to attend their last concert in Seoul. Then, they enlisted one by one, and naturally I drifted away from Kpop all together until I discovered BTS, late again, in early 2018. This time I fell HARD. I fell instantly in love with Jimin and dug everything about Jimin and BTS. I became an army and here we are. Long story short, these two are my personal most favs in Kpop, Jimin being my ultimate bias. It INDEED feels like a collab of the year, even of the decade!!!! I’ve been so elated and happy this week. Thank you, Taeyang and our Jimin….You never disappoint !

I heard of BIGBANG's song everywhere when I was a kid. And its not even from radio or TV, just people playing the song loud in the streets. There was a point their biggest song of 2012 kept playing for years because people can't get enough of it. I remember neighbors were playing the song on New Years eve of 2015 and then a few months later BIGBANG made a comeback with BANG BANG BANG.... 😆 Then by 2016 New Year's Eve all I hear around the neighborhood was either Fantastic Baby, Bang Bang Bang, Gangnam Style or Sorry Sorry on repeat. That time BTS wasn't yet known around my neighborhood.

I discovered BigBang first back in the early 2000s, along with my mom who is a hardcore VIP with a Taeyang bias. This song is currently on repeat for her, this version in particular. Last year I started teaching her more about BTS because she had a lot of misconceptions, but she's a baby ARMY now. After this song, I think she's developing a Jimin bias. She's got a soft spot for Jin too. 💜

I love Taeyang the most when he sings LIVE. His vocal technique is hard to pull, so its cool that Jimin finally have someone that can help him. Taeyang himself is a hard working artist like Jimin. He wasn't a rapper/singer when he came to YG. He was just a child actor trying his luck in entertainment. He was selected for a role in one of YG's hip-hop duo back then and after that he wanted to be a part of it. Beg Yang Hyun Suk to take him in and be trained to rap and sing. As for your question, I am a born Korean, so Korean music is part of my life. All I'm going to say is, when BIGBANG was just starting, they were already a force or a storm that came to the idol industry. Back then idols were seen as the lowest of the low and unrespectable in the eyes of the public. They were made fun of.... but to the public eye, BIGBANG was a start of the birth of artists not just idols in the music industry. Their greatness goes beyond the achievement through awards, views, ranking or sales. Like Suga mentioned, BIGBANG help next generation run for their dreams. BIGBANG built a bridge in between two mountains so the rest can safely walk and run towards the other.

Yes to this. Every Korean knows G-Dragon/Bigbang are the best star ever produced and it's thanks to them they were the ones who's in the frontline and shaped what kpop is today. Most of the things you see in kpop today is bec of Bigbang being the firsts, first idols to compose and produce their own songs which gained general public recognition, first designed official lightstick, first to have successful careers without disbanding, airport fashion and the list goes on. They changed the benchmark of the whole Korean music industry. That's why they're one of the most respected, including bts and Bang Si Hyuk, the amount of respect they have for them cannot be measured. I discovered Bigbang first through their Haru Haru (2008) then BTS comes who we'd seen were one of the biggest VIPs among rookies at that time so we supported and loved them too until they reached global success. The internet culture and smartphones made it easier for us to hype and support bts compared to the peak and active yrs of Bigbang, nevertheless they together with the 1st and second gen artists brought kpop into the world

To answer your question, since I am a longtime fan of Kpop I definitely heard and knew BigBang first, I wasn't a stan of the group but I vibe with some of their songs. I persomally was into Taeyang more than the group and always thought that his voice is amazing and I love his solo songs. I am happy to witness this collab between Taeyang (Bigbang) and Jimin (BTS) since I am one who don't believe and subscribe to "fan wars" which is sadly a part of kpop even before BTS and BigBang. We all can choose to like one group/artist without having to hate the others. I love BTS and I love Taeyang! 💜

Answer: I got to know Kpop with YG artists in 2012. BIGBANG was the first kpop group I liked and one of the only ones I became a fan of the second generation. As for question of the day, I got into kpop around 2014, I was definitely more into Bigbang, I've heard of BTS but it wasn't until Dope comeback when I got interested... and soon they became my favorite group haha But yes, definitely Bigbang was on top at the time, the craziest part was that other groups were inspired by every single concept, hair change... whatever they did through the years their influence was huge, they killed the charts everytime, even people not interested in kpop were their fans, I still remember their comeback and 2015 MAMA (as 2ne1 fan it was even more amazing, because they made a secret reunion to sing for fans after one member was involved in a sad "scandal" and disappeared from the public view for a long time... to this day the best MAMA!). That's why now seeing Taeyang and Jimin seems like a dream, like a bridge between the kpop generations that you thought would have never happened, especially that (in my opinion at least) vips and armys were kinda on two different ends of the spectrum haha

TAEYANG's singing here isn't even a quarter of his true capabilities. This man was already a good singer despite originally being a rapper and before the said "enlightenment" Suga talked about. 🤣 After the enlightenment, he started becoming like a monster who was finally unleashed to the world. Must've been hard for him to glue himself down on that chair. HAHAHAH One thing you should know about BIGBANG, their live performances are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than their studio version and this applies to all the members' solo performances as well, not just as a group. More people need to know about Taeyang! He was Jimin's idol. He's from BIG BANG, the original KPOP Boy Band, before the BTS came along. Taeyang is a member of BIGBANG They debuted in 2006 and are considered "The Kings of KPOP" for all the things they have created to modernize KPOP over the years. I discovered kpop back in 2011.. I live in Europe and I grow up watching animes so I was into in Jpop and at that time there was no way to not know BIGBANG if you were into JPOP...They were hella famous there back then... But I didn't know nothing about Kpop I knew BIGBANG were a Korean group but i had no idea a "KPOP INDUSTRY SYSTEM " existed until my best friend dragged me in by introducing me kdramas, variety shows... I initially fell for dramas mostly for the Ost then I found out those songs were sang by idols and I searched for those idols groups and I ended up falling hard into KPOP hole... Back then the whole idols thing was SO FASCINATING,.. the only thing that bothered me was Korean toxicity. The way they always want idols to apologize for things they didn't do cuz its "polite, and humble" ask forgiveness even they just did nothing wrong🤷‍♀️..idols even take the blame for their Labels mistakes so that's really annoys me.... anyways I became a Kpoper i loved all groups i came across(back then it wasn't easy know all groups cuz the most famous got the spotlight, so it was easy find info about them in english, sadly International Kpoper didn't make to know all so we couldn't support them😔)...at some point my beloved idols started their enlistment era, some groups disbanded, others groups loose members, kpop community faced tragedies and we all were so much broken😭. Some left cuz the pain was too much to handle and some stayed to support our faves groups...my last fave group got enlisted.. I left for a while... and I cameback for BIGBANG🥺, I knew their fame, i knew their songs, I knew they changed Kpop, but I realized that I didn't know them as persons.. I didn't know how much pain they faced through their career untill.. I saw how kpoppies came after them for the misinformation Kmedia was spreading.. and I was amazed to see all the hate BIGBANG was facing.. while the real guilty one, untill today newbies don't even know his name but they openly blame a BIGBANG member of all sort of things when actually he didn't do any of those😔...honestly I never liked fandoms, I always thought those were all toxic and had a tendency to create their own narratives to save their idols.. But when I did my own research about BIGBANG member🐼 I even translated most of the Korean articles all by myself I realized BIGBANG fandom wasn't lying VIPs said the truth about that BIGBANG member 🐼.. I stared to educate myself about everything about BIGBANG, and of course I kept educating about the currently situation and all.. I started to spread the right information but it was so hard I cried so many times for all the answers I got from people some even didn't care i was so speachlees and depressed.. Untill I joined VIPs I wasn't alone anymore, VIPs gave me more info about BIGBANG cuz some things you can't easily find it. most of them were funny stuff😂.. I learned the meaning behind some BIGBANG songs/mvs that before I didn't know we're meaningful songs.. I fell in love of those songs and I fell in love of them so I became a VIP and I'm so proud of my crazy fandom... sadly we have our so annoying bad apples but VIPs are pretty cool, funny and smart... they don't bother BIGBANG members this fandm respect BIGBANG privacy..as a kpoper this is something amazing and not that easy to find when I came across in other fandoms in the past...meantime I'm waiting in a Flower Road that looks like more to a Cactus Road😅💛..luckily our Taeyang is back so we are coming to life again...
