I'm not sure I agree with you on some of the breathing as the line seems to stop in the middle of a motif. I will say the presentation is very robust and I enjoyed it. Thank you for providing this as a reference to those who are learning it.

Thank you for listening! Of course there is no „rule“ to use the breathings as I did! For me, this way made my musical idea of the study work best - but of course this must be decided by each player on their own! Thanks for leaving me your thoughts! :)

Thank you for listening - but I don‘t understand what you mean.

@@valerieteresawalter Many professional musicians feel that Jimmy Galway grinds his notes for no musical reason whatsoever. The old NY Philharmonic musicians used to laugh when he was playing at Lincoln Center..."fast food" flute music.

@@yishihara55527 I think that everyone should have the permission to play his or her own musical idea of the pieces. For me, there is no grinding or anything like this - only a way to make music instead of only playing notes as an etude… I don‘t see why one should laugh or tell strange names. It’s okay to have a different opinion in meanings of interpretations and it’s so much better to have different music! There is NO exact right or wrong way to play certain music

@@valerieteresawalter Actually it's not OK. "Amateurs" constantly talk about how music is subjective when in reality so many people have not mastered the objective aspects of music. The subjective aspects are for the elite pros. Pinky always talks about building an incredibly solid foundation, but people want to run an Olympic-level sprint before they can even crawl. This is the problem. The reality is that there is some Jimmy-esque grinding in your playing but you, as many others, are conditioned (have accepted it as the norm), so you can't really hear it. Just like with many of those Italian overly sentimental Jimmy clones...five cent discount meatball opera players. 😂

@@valerieteresawalter These people have no idea what they're talking about. I'm a Masters Flute Performance major in conservatory studying with Demarre McGill. Your interpretation of this etude is delightful, and you have a wonderful well rounded tone. Your phrasing really brings out the melodic notes and I love your contrast of dynamics. You really made this otherwise "simple" etude really interesting and beautiful. You make great musical choices while you're playing. Great job and keep the videos coming!! Ignore these other folks who WISH they were on your level! 😂
