This was a wonderful deep dive into a Surah which would’ve been a tough one to fully appreciate without the historical background of what unfolded. I’m incredibly curious to understand how sheikh Nouman (and others) conduct their research to dig up the events that underpin Surahs and their timelines so I can do the research on my own as well. A summary on what we’ve learned so far from the surah, from my own understanding thus far: firstly, Allah is reminding us, through his dialogue with the Prophet SAW, that not everyone is genuine in their intent to listen openly about matters of God. And as humans, we cannot know what’s inside one’s heart, so we tend to give the benefit of the doubt and engage in da’wa in hopes of winning people’s hearts. However, doing this too much can make it seem like we’re desperate for other’s approval. Secondly, we also don’t have the benefit of the Prophet SAW in that he is told directly by Allah that indeed the hearts of these specific people that the Prophet SAW is trying to win are sealed. His words are falling on deaf ears. So lest we start looking desperate in seeking others’ approval, we should simply give the message and spend most of our energy on those whose hearts already crave for more closeness to their Creator. It is not on us to try hard to convince people at the expense of isolating the ones who do fear and love Allah. May Allah forgive me for any error I have in my understanding of this wonderful surah.

the verse begins with " HE FROWNED AND TURNED AWAY' and you replace "HE " by "the prophet" !!! What disrespect for the Qur'an, the Prophet and the readers! The 3rd person used at the beginning indicates that it is a person other than the prophet. Then GOD uses the 2nd person to directly blame this person. Many exegetes claim that it is a companion of the prophet, which is logical. So why do you transform 'he' with 'the prophet'??? Stay honest and avoid it !!! The quran says that the prophet has the best behavior in S68-V4 and this is the 2nd siurate revealed; so God announces from the start who our prophet is!!! and you say the opposite based on false hadiths. This surah 80 starts with the 3rd person to indicate that it is a third person and then God uses the 2nd person to blame it directly!!! you prefer to say that it is the prophet (saw) who is blamed and not a companion!!!! don't take such responsibility !! we know today that the Umayyads falsified many hadiths and books by replacing just one person by another, a word by another word, a sentence by a word.... as you will see in the link I give you will indicate.
