I have your hair color and I always wanted to dye my hair blonde for years and I did ombré and highlights and everything because I was afraid to actually do it and last year I finally did and I'm so glad I did. If you're still thinking about doing it don't be scared just do it changing hair color is so fun just like changing up makeup styles!! I'd definitely recommend just going for it if you want to, I'm so happy I did

I use to have that problem also but not much anymore. The type of shampoo and conditioner are very important, don't go cheap on it!
