I'll add to this. I bought a brand new watch that I saved up for quite some time. Ones I got it I babied it and hardly wore it. Didn't enjoy the damn thing until I actually started wearing it. The first ding it got well... hurt quite a bit but now I look at it just as an extra bit of character. Liked your story and lovely watch

I lost my mum in September and know how you feel. Great watch. Bought a battered 2012 version because it was cheap, however a new bezel cost half the price of the watch. I used to own the classic first generation F1 since I was in high achool but it’s gone for so many years. At present, I have one S/el and one F1 in my collection and will never sell them.
