Manding drum music is more than just sounds to me, it speaks to me and carries with it so much meaning too. Remembering my mom Jacca Sidibe!!!!

Hi James, sorry we never replied to you. Sogonikun is a smaller Djembe that is cousin to the Manding Djembe and it's from the Wassoulou region of Mali. It has a higher pitch and it's used to play Traditional Wassoulou rhythm. Sogonikun literally means "little animal head" but it refers to a small antelope. Story says that the Sogonikun Djembe and the rhythm were stolen from sorcerers and anyone who dances and plays Sogonikun have to be heavily protected and initiated. Check out the link above!

The song says that NOTHING happens without a reason. That EVERYTHING happens for a reason!!! So follow your dreams and see them thru and never give up. There are some who gain wealth and others who toil but it's all written by the same hand and that is the hand of the universe!!!!
