For those have a problem with consistency, you have to look in the direction of the Boulder after it falls off the cliff. If you ride away to fast with your back turned to the falling Boulder you won’t get “souls”.

I think he just meant to say 2-4k per minute rather than per hour, which is about right. If the horse is circling them at its slower pace (don't use shift/sprint), then you can just go in a circle around them slashing them. Katana works pretty well for me.

If you're using a Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot to increase the runes you get, don't fast travel to the Grace because it'll just remove the effect. So you'll just have walk to the Grace to reset the enemies and keep the effect.

This is correct. I figured it out myself. You do kinda have to follow the boulder down with your camera. At least until it reaches the edge of the cliff to make sure you get your runes. Other wise youll be losing time

Added bonus, if you can locate the abandoned cave in Central caelid you can get the gold scarab talisman which increases runes obtained from defeated enemies. Which raises the payout of the Boulder to 2,342 runes.

While riding down the path to the giant ball, you can hug the left side of the cliff wall and harvest some Glintstone Fireflies from the blue crystal formations and Faded Erdleaf Flowers (both crafting materials) and on the run back up to the site of grace, you can hug the left side again (which was your right side on the way down) to harvest even more Glintstone Fireflies. You can do this without breaking sprint, so it's just bonus crafting materials while you cheese yourself to victory!

This is a good spot for sure. My only feedback is that you're looking at more realistically about 25 seconds per loop. So I would expect a decent hour of grinding will net you 250k and top out around 300k if you're very efficient/consistent. Still a great amount of xp without having to do much of anything, but 585000/hr I don't think is possible. I timed your run in the video and it's around 24 seconds, so I don't know how you're doing it in half the time (12 sec), which is what would be required to hit 585k. Not a diss, just feels a little baity.

Ok here's how to get it every time: you're gonna be able to ascertain exactly when the ball spawns after a few runs, you can see it spawn just behind you even if youre just running past it. I run to the edge of the cliff, turn around to watch it spawn, and just walk torrent directly to the side of it, to my left if youre facing the ball. Continue to spin the camera back to where the ball is now falling off the cliff (for some reason it despawns if your camera isnt looking in its direction sometimes) as soon as you see the runes pop up, warp or run back, and make sure youre doing this at night, because sometimes it will just randomly give you x10 the amount of runes.

After avoiding the initial glowing ball for nearly 2K runes, keep going down the path. Another ball appears where the tree branch crosses the path. It will also grant nearly 2K runes if you dodge it correctly.

Awesome! Normally you get about 1900 runes BUT if you defeat the boss in the abandoned cave (to the left of the smoldering wall grace, you will get the Gold Scarab talisman. Equip the talisman and you will get around 2300 runes when doing this farm!

Another place that's good for farming is Windmill village without much danger of losing your runes. From the site of grace there you can kill all the witches going up the first lot of steps and then back to the site of grace again. I used the Bloodhound's Fang two handed and it was clearing out 3 to 4 witches at once. You'll get 200,000 - 250,000 runes an hour plus all the gold runes they drop.

It's not patched on PS5/PS4. All you need to do is: 1. The first time you do it, mounted, make sure to notice at what point on the map you saw the trap spawn. After it falls off the cliff, place a marker/message on your map. This will provide you with a clear point of reference on when to start turning around, while making the farm faster and safer. 2. The ball can somewhat follow you, so your objective is to turn around and away from it as fast as you're able to while mounted. 3. Lastly, and most importantly, to get credit you must turn back around to watch it go off the cliff. Do this by either jumping off the mount towards the ball (obviously not off the cliff) or ride back towards it. The reason is, you won't get credit if you're not close enough to see it go off the edge. The first two times I thought they had patched it but I tested this theory and it's been working. You'll be getting around 2000ish runes. 4. Port back and repeat.

That's a nice grind, thank you 😊 If you're lazy and dont feel like doing all that traveling. That 1 giant right outside the third church of marika is easy to kill with range. I get about 85k runes a hour on my astrologer that only has 25 intellect. I do have the meteorite staff and the rock sling sorcery spell. The rock sling makes giants fall after 3 shots so theres no fight at all from range. Hope this helps anyone looking for something easy

want insta 72K rune? Head southwest from this checkpoint find a fort, you will find a sleeping dragon. you can free hit him for about 5mins before you kill it, Instant 72K runes. Fun tip: use weapon with blood loss effect

Just as a warning - if you kill it then some other potential farms despawn forever. There is a sleeping dragon that you can hit in the head a couple of times to kill if you are strong enough, and get 3200+ per kill in under 20 seconds per run. The catch is you need to be able to deal that much damage (to its head while it's sleeping) to make the farm viable. So i would actually advise against grabbing the 72K runes, as the alternative farm is better late game.

For those experiencing problems in getting the runes....As pointed out the ball need to go over the cliff PLUS you have to turn around and stand at the edge of the cliff, then you will be rewarded with the runes every time. Pro tip: Make sure to not fall off the cliff ;) LOL And enjoy!

I've tried both running back to the Site of Grace and fast traveling. I found both of them to take the same amount of time (using PC and a M.2) but I found reloading I get more consistent drops than I do trying to run back. Make sure to look at the ball dropping. If you stick around while it drops you'll get more consistent runes.

The building beside the farming method Grace in this video can be accessed by the horse jump by the cliff just aim towards the building and land on the roof with the balcony. There is a ball boss that spits out blue mist. That’s all he does, so he can’t hit you far away. I stood outside room during mist and went in for bite when clear. He is weak to physical attacks. I used Dragonmaw incantation to do it easier. It requires 16 faith to use all 3 incantations I found. Just range him to be safe. But if it’s magic it will take longer. I got my dragon abilities after doing the dragon kill that gets you 74k runes and 5 hearts. They can be bought for dragon hearts (1 heart each) at the Church of Dragon Communion. It’s an island South West of The First step. Go through Coastal Cave to reach island. Cave has boss. I suggest the Lone Wolf Ashes for boss. That’s how I personally did it. You all may find better ways or already have them! It awards a MEMORY STONE. For an extra memory slot.

There is a massive dragon thats laying on the ground near that spot. If you attack it from its left side you, it won't attack back and the smaller dragons won't reach you. Killing it nets you 75k runes plus 5 dragon hearts

This method is so cheesy... and I love it! I have noticed that the bolder has to fall off the cliff properly for it to give Runes. Some times it can stop on top of the cliff in which case you don't get everything. I have yet to be as efficient as 585,600 runes per hour though, I am sitting at about 300k though, which isn't bad.

I don't know if you've ever made a video about it, but I think Sellia Crystal Tunnel is a really good rune farming location. You have to fight 11 enemies, but the number of runes they give you will get you 3,676 runes every time you clear the room.

side note at 2:28 when you first go through the portal. directly behind you is a door you can open with a summon. it is for after you give a deathroot to D. you give more deathroot to the guy there so worth getting the shrine

Just something to mention that most don't realize. The ball is an actual enemy When it falls you get exp because it kills itself, not some non-existent enemy below the cliff.

Just a heads up, be careful about leveling too fast if you are new to Souls games. Player invasions of your world are based on your level. More players invade at higher levels when their build is nearing completion or when they can afford to buy the invasion item. If you level too fast you will be vastly unprepared for the PvP aspect of the game, though this isn't the case if you play strictly offline.

@@LordAnubis85 I'm pretty sure you can't be invaded randomly unless you actually do co-op or other means like an item,the taunters tongue?i'm at about 173 level an havn't been invaded even once (not including the NPC invaders). In elden ring you kinda have to "invite the invaders in" so to speak. Defeats the purpose of the word "invasion" but eh. edit: Oh wait the invading item yeah,i forgot about that lol. If it bypasses everything i wonder whut the purpose of the tongue is then,ah well,no skin off my nose. PvP happens xD

Those Vulgar before getting to that bridge drop about 1094 runes each and can almost be one shotted with a sneak attack. You can get 14,000 runes in that area in 15 minutes, about 20, 000 if you kill all the Vulgar before going to the campfire to reset them.

No lie chief I don’t see anyone getting half a million in an hour. Another thing to note is once you hit level 70 something it’ll cost 30K per level and the mental drain of doing this over and over will start to take effect.

honestly i think sneak killing the short guys next to the bridge with the dragon. from facing the dragon to the right theres an open area with 4 short guys space out, kill them then go up the hill and kill the other 6 that will give you like 12k

It works, but it's not as "simple" as advertised. You must watch the bolder go over the cliff. Best to target lock it, while avoiding falling off the cliff. You can get your pattern after a bit.

idk if its the same for everyone but when i do this I have to watch the ball roll off the cliff to get souls, if i just dodge the ball and dont look back i dont get the souls. If its happening to you just look back while its rolling off and you should be good.

A small thing worth noting is that you can actually exit to fast travel too quickly and miss out on the runes-even if the boulder has shot off the edge of the cliff. To be sure, I just wait for (usually) the second ringing noise (the first is the little critter that typically gets walloped by boulder).

there’s a quicker way to get runes you have to get the starscourge weapons and do the L2 attack with it on the sleeping enemies at the beginning of mohgs castle you can get to the castle after you find the portal in consecrated snowfield

Also, you must see the ball drop from the cliff or else u won't get any runes. Even if only a single pixel is in frame when it happens you'll get the rune drop... And a word of Elden Ring advice... Go ahead and spend your runes as well as your upgrade stones. Do not leave it to chance. There are bosses that will kill you before you get back to retrieve your not-so hard earned runes.

Using this to level up is great, although with each subsequent level, there's an increased number of runes required to level up. My Confessor character is level 85 now, and it now takes about 43k runes to reach the next level. And it'll keep going up. But using the teleport trick will speed things up by 5 seconds or so, which I hadn't been doing before. And it is a fantastically safe way to level up.

I just trigger the boulder, then run to the right toward the cliff and do a 180 to dodge it. then, turn as it is falling (you want to have aimed at it while it hits the invisible wall), then you can spam open map and go back to the lost grace. Extremely consistent method, and I am able to get each run in about 25 seconds (timed from clicking Yes on the map)ae

100% still works as of 4/2/2022 For best results, -rest at grace until nightfall. -mount your horse and run down the hill keeping left. - as soon as you see the ball spawn, run wide right keeping against the cliff edge and double jump up the rock closest to the tree on the right, using your right stick to watch the ball fall over the edge. -return to map -return to grace -rinse & repeat -I’m noticing about 1/25 tries rewards 9,xxx ruins (at night). Do this until you’re leveled up enough to beat Goodrick, then move on to the bird farm.

it might not be the best, but the impassible gatebridge has a cool soldier v dog dino battle that gets me ~5000 per sesh. you also kite the bird in from the nearby cliff and the 4 dogs via the alpha, then drag them through the back end to also grab the soldiers captain. you can trigger the fight, aggro the extra dogs, and the bird without touching them. the only scary bit being when the bird does a skydive, just serpentine on the goat and your set to go, drag it through a group of soldiers and keep running, they'll aggro eachother in a second

This does work. I was level 20 and got to level 35 in about 35 minutes. Around that level it was maybe 7800+ souls for 1 level so the grind is real. I figured hey I’m 15 levels higher let me try the first mini boss when you first start. The guy on the horse. My health bar is huge now, more strength, I’m feeling super powerful. I died 5 times. Didn’t even feel like I was hitting for much more. These types of game I just can’t get into. So be warned. Just because you did this and got to level 50 it really isn’t going to make much of a difference. This game is based 90% on skill and 10% on stats. Just not for me.

Did you upgrade your weapons? A big part of stats is the weapon scaling which increases the more its leveled up. Also the tree guy in the beginning is supposed to be for more leveled and geared characters

You need to now get a good scaling weapon my dude, open your weapons stats and you will see some alphabet letters which determine the amount of power they get from your stats. You need to find a weapon that has good scaling or upgrade one by getting smithing stones, your damage will go crazy high afterwards

If you wanna get nearly 4 million runes an hour without rune budfs you should do varres quest after defeating godrick and talking to the two fingers at the round table. After invading another person 3 times you get the teleporter item to Moghwyns palace and theres a deathbird near a grace and whenever you shoot at it it will aggro and fall over the cliff, earning 11k each time and it takes like 5 seconds to do.

I’ve been farming off the two tied up giants in the beginning pulling the wagon. They give you 1k each giant and there’s two of em. Then with all the little dudes that hang around that you can easily kill it makes up to 4-5000. This only takes like 5-10 min tops

@@christophermiller3452 I would recommend going to caelid area and going to the beast dude area because there’s a lot of small enemies that give you 1k and are a lot faster to kill. They are pretty strong but it helps you get better at dodging I would say.

I have found a spot. A bit slower but you can farm smiting stones up to level 4 and if you are patient almost all enemies can be sneak attacked. It's the battle next to the impassable gate Bridge. Great spot
