I actually tested this - I ignored certain villagers and talked to others daily and gave them gifts. Almost every single one of the villagers who I talked to at some point asked to move out

Make sure you pay attention to the day you start. I usually start fresh by resetting the clock to the first of the month. Then skips day, check around, skip again. Then 15 days. If nothing still skip 1 more day...if nothing try one more skip making it a total of 19 days and 5 times in a row. I have a mover. Lots of weeds tho...also!! If it's someone you so t want moving...go back to the 1st...open game save and quite then go back to that day you saw the mover.. try changing the clock to a different hour too.

i'd be down for something like 'book about a far away island!' that you buy from the nook shop for ... let's say 20k miles, and then you give it to a villager, the next day they have the thought bubble that says they want to move, and then it's the standard leaving procedure, while still giving you a day to change your mind before agreeing to send them off. significant gameplay investment for the player to get that many miles and it's not something you can do on a whim, which seems pretty up nintendo's street for AC.

tl;dw Step 1: skip forward a day and look for thought bubble above a villager’s head (and make sure it’s a time of day where you know the villager you want to leave is outside). ****It’s important to not speak to anyone while you’re doing this.**** Step 2: if no thought bubble appears, skip forward a day again, save the game, reopen and look for the same thing Step 3: if there’s no thought bubble yet, skip forward 15 days from your day 1, save, reopen and find any villager with a thought bubble Step 4: keep skipping a day forward from this point until you find someone with a thought bubble (**make sure you remember the specific date when you do!**) but DONT speak to them if it’s a villager you want to keep. If it’s one you want to kick out then go ahead and speak to them and they should want to leave Step 5 (if the thought bubble wasn’t on the correct villager): change the date back to your day 1 starting point, save, reopen the game, and move the date forward to the day the villager had a thought bubble above their head, save, reopen and look for a thought bubble Step 6: keep repeating step 5 until the villager you want to kick out has the thought bubble above their head, and talk to them - hopefully saying they want to leave I did the method just now and it worked exactly as instructed, so I hope this helps for anyone else if you don’t want to watch the video. ***EDIT: questions in this thread seem to be repeating so I implore anyone else who has one to read through the previous replies and answers first because I may have already answered it from someone else!

Dylan Huang if they’re not the villager you want to kick, you change the date back to day 1 then save the game and reopen the game, then change the date forward to the date a villager had the thought bubble and save and reopen the game again. I don’t think I ever closed the game fully so I can’t verify what happens if you do

Sarah Trajcevska you can go back to the starting date and they’ll still say they want to move out (I did this), but you need the plot of land to be empty to find villagers on mystery islands again, which you can do by time skipping or waiting it out over the next two days for that villager you want to kick to fully leave your island

In other words, once you manage to kick a villager out, you need to spam Mystery Tours to get your ideal villager the same day a land plot is open.

You don't need to go back 15 days when you see a villager you don't want to move with the thought bubble. You can ignore them and just skip ONE day forward and the bubble will move to someone else. Just had this happen to me.

@@moneykenny119 what I did today was, once I had a villager wanting to move out, saved, skipped one day so that they were in boxes, saved, skipped one day so that they were gone and I had the empty plot, moved in a new villager, saved, skipped a day so that I had the new villager, saved, skipped a day just to be sure that the new villager was "fully" moved in (as the first day they won't get out of their house and you can't interact much with them), saved, skipped back to original date and the new villager was there. If you want to be 100% sure do this. The empty plot stays empty for one day only, then it'll get filled in automatically by a random villager, so move a new villager in the day you have it otherwise it'll be sold randomly the next day.

I have had Moose on my island since the beginning, and the moment I saw that dandy mouse I knew we were mortal enemies. However, I didn’t know about friendship stuff then so I just went about my island as normal and somehow ended up getting him to Tier 3 friendship without wanting to. I’ve been trying to lower my friendship for so long to get him to leave and I found this and bookmarked it for the day I knew I could commit to get this done. easiest way I've found is to TT to the 1st of any random month, save and close software, then TT to the 15th and there will be a thought bubble. If it's not the villager you want gone, go back to the 1st, repeat process until the bubble is over the villager you do want gone.

Came here to tell the community that if its not the villager you want to leave, you can close the game WITHOUT SAVING, change the time ~30 minutes, and it will usually be a different villager. EDIT: At the time I posted this, this was the method I was using. Soon after, I had gotten all 10 of my wishlist villagers so I only did it a few more times. If this has indeed stopped working, going 15 days instead of ~30 minutes should work.

When I got someone with a thought bubble for the first run in day 2 of time traveling, it was the wrong one so I went back to the date I started (August 1st, its on the 3rd) I went back and then back to August 3rd (bc that's when someone wanted to move out) no one had the thought bubble anymore, I have no clue what I did wrong. if it's a thought bubble for something that they give you it's not the day that they're trying to move out, so you need to keep time travelling until you find somebody who wants to move out then that is your set date. Example for me my date is the 20th of April, I'm pretty much always guarantee that someone will ask to move out on the 20th of April and every two weeks after the on the Mondays. I actually tested the theory on the 20th and was able to move out 2 villagers in the same night. So what I did was I started with the 20th and then sourced my way through every two weeks on the same Monday until I found the villager who I wanted to move. again if you are finding someone that is wanting to give you a gift that is not the moving out date. You will need to keep time travelling until you find the moving out date. Then take note of that specific date and then travel two weeks forward from there. sometimes it works if you run around for 20 minutes or so until you find someone with the thought bubble. So it's a little bit of time tweaking plus patience

This method works great, but in case you wanted to try out something different but yet similar (?) here’s what I do. So you have your starting date then you skip forward by 15 days and if there are no thought bubbles over villagers skip a day from there and continue skipping by one until you have a thought bubble. Then finish off with his method of having your date and skipping around from there. I just find that if you skip 15 days right off the bat it speeds up the process

It seems to work for me when I talk to them and check they do want to move out, but don’t click yes or no, and dont save and just close the software immediately and time travel back. I mean I still haven’t got the right villager to move, but it’s cycled through about 4, so it seems to work.

If ur doing this method to farm several villagers: if a villager you want to keep moves in ,do not talk/ introduce yourself to the villager. The move out bubble can only trigger on villagers that you have introduced yourself to. So if you keep timetraveling that villager Will never want to move.

Also it was raining for like a week straight when I time travelled so everyone was inside, but if it didn’t work for you initially, keep at it!! Just letting everyone know of a new way I’ve discovered works every time for me, and is even easier and quicker than this method! All you need to do is time travel ahead 20 days, and time travel back to the original time before. You should have a villager wanting to move out ^^ Hope this helps!

A random Shroob It’s really just Buck, Quillson, Kyle, and Rhonda that I don’t care for. I do like Kyle’s garage band aesthetic but I think he looks kinda ugly. Also I have Apple and her design isn’t terrible but she’s unbelievably annoying.

When my start villager Biff suddenly wanted to move out, I felt hurt. He’s my buddy, my jock homie, and suddenly he wanted to move out? Out of nowhere? I told him no, he can’t go. From that day on I promised myself to talk to him and give him flowers everyday until he stayed for good. But Sylvia in the other hand, my other starter villager. She can begone. I hate her so much.

I have been trying for 2 days to get Sylvia out of here. I've traveled to so many different days and somehow suddenly when I need to find this chick she's always nowhere to be found no matter what time I skip it to, I finally find someone with the thought bubble but then when I try the method over suddenly nobody has it anymore!!!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong I've tried to get this lady to leave since day 1 and I am going INSANE

If you are traveling to a time when they are in the museum or a store, it can not work. You have to change the time also. :)

So update: after like 3 fill days of working I time traveled and stumbled upon a campsite w filbert in it so I tried the campsite method and after 3 tries I finally got her out!!!!

The thing I do is I stack my turnips at a friend ´s island . Then, I’m free to time travel to kick someone. When I’m finish, I go take them back.

They would be gone I think. Just like when you renovate your house, time hop so that it is done & then go back, the house would still be done.
