I forgot to mention that most pals have IVs in the mid range. Its very rare to get low IV pals, but also rare to get incredibly high IV pals. I also dont think its mandatory or super worth worrying about for the majority of people

@@neowolf09 To back up what he's saying there's a lot of youtubers right now with videos showing off their powerful Pals which they're able to obtain faster than normal, did so before IV's were known about, all have max IV's (I checked using the calculator) with passives that are good and some of them even have the alpha or lucky mark which definitely means they were cheated in. There's also Pal editors already that allow you to give all your Pals max IV's and whatever passive you want in less than 5 mins.

Remember this back when Pokemon GO came out. They too had their IV's hidden. Calculators online popped up shortly after release though. Later it got added so you could see approximately IV's. Different texts meaning a different IV range from 1-100%. Until finally, adding so one can see the raw values, right then and there. Palworld is better off just jumping straight to showing raw numbers and stats as soon as possible.

You're not alone there, mate. Basically, I just choose the pal with the best overall stats from a handful of pals with perfect passives. I knew there were IVs, but chose not to burden myself as it would not be fun anymore. More of a chore.

Great video, but you missed the 'calculate IVs button at the top. After you put your level and stars and stuff in, you can switch to that and just manually type your values in to instantly get your %

This is all great info! The onyl thing I would do differently is when you have the base stat for a particular Pal, just divide your pals stat by the base stat, subtract 1 and then multiply by 100 to get the IV stat percent increase. This way you don't have to worry about leveling it.

@@suzumomokise8390 Actually, only the first step matters. By dividing you pal's stats by the base stats of that species, you get a number that is 1 or higher. The resulting number will tell that "your pal is X times better than pal with no IVs" So, your pal can have up to x1.5 max health, or x1.3 attack and defense compared to pal without IVs

I hate IVs, sooner want this part removed, but otherwise hope they both make it visible in game & able to max them out with items or other mechanics. Plus you know as soon as PvP exists or someone's bothered doing it, there will be a cheat or mod that allows you to make perfect IVs on any pal to save time just like Pokemon has had for years.

Nice to know this system is in Palworld too. I'd stick to getting the passive traits down first before worrying about such hidden stats. Not like a legendary rocket launcher with 1000 rocket ammo plus two attack ring +2 at 180 base atk can't cover the damage your pal is lacking, unless it's the pal pvp in the future.

Cool vid Tag! I decided to go investigate my Pal IVs, and it turns out one REALLY badly rolled Mossanda HP IV basically ruined my entire Endgame Pal genetic line as they all have 1-5% HP IVs, although their ATK and DEF are 27-29. The definition of glass cannons. I'm busy rebreeding the entire team now T_T. So many cakes, especially since I already fully condensed a few of them.

Always make sure you have no passives you don't want while breeding. The chance to get a parents passive is way way higher than the chance to get a random passive. In other words you are more likely to continuously inheriting "bad" passives all the way and its really hard to get rid of them again down the line. The perfect breeding pairs while crossbreeding different skills mathematically is getting pals with single desired passives and nothing else, then breed two parents for your desired child that both have two out of the desired four passives. Once you have your pal with the correct passives, make a pal with good IV's with no passive skill and then breed the two together, replacing the "no passive, max IV" pal with any max IV pal that has more skills than its parent. Going about it this way moves breeding max IV ideal passive pals from insane to reasonably difficult.

Welp, even though I'm still having sour grapes over making workspeed rancher pals, I'll choose to take solace in that workspeed does not seem to be affected by IV's. So unless it's a combat pal you really don't need to worry too much about it. With PvP and PvE Raids on the roadmap, I fully expect these IV's might mean all the difference, especially for those who like to play at higher difficulties.

Did you notice certain traits too will keep your stats from reaching higher. I believe it was when I was breeding Jormuntide. A Jormuntide at Lv1 with Ferocious had 132 attack. Now any Jormuntide i bred with Ferocious and Burly Body only had 130 attack. Now my sample size was small like 10 Jormuntides but consistently if it rolled with Both Burly Body + Ferocious it had 2 less attack power as compared to my just Ferocious Jormuntides. These were all made from the same parents.

I did not know that IV where in the game, I just dumped all my recources into a Jetdragon that finally rolled with the 4 gold passives I wanted. Im happy to say that according to the calculator, my atk and defence are perfekt and my HP is in the 37% range. Quite happy knowing that ;D

A lot of people seem traumatized by Pokemon if I gauge the comments, but this is leagues easier to understand than IV's were and a lot less troublesome. I bred competitively, so I should know. I appreciate that RNG is not only less involved, but MORE reliable. as long as you have the high-IV parents,.. And you conveniently get them from shinys and boss pals? Heck yeah!!! I have a question for everyone else that is addicted to breeding. What are y’all doing about the pal box space issue? I can’t even imagine how I’m going to condense for the legendary pals with the current lack of space. I started breeding jetragon for swift and runner and I had to stop because it was too much to manage the pal box. Side question what’s the best/most significant to you pal you’ve bred? I made a fenglope with legend, swift, runner and nimble for dungeon farming. Also I’m almost done making a Suzuka aqua with legend, lucky, musclehead and lord of the sea. Just need that last part

Take solace in the knowledge that the difference between absolute worst IV and the absolute best IV comes out to roughly 1 trait (usually the weakest) difference. If you account for the fact that most of pals will be around the average mark, it's essentially just a negligible extra thing you can bother with if you can bee arsed.

You had to spend a lot of time breeding for the right passives then suddenly this. You now have to mix max for IVs on top of right passives, then the option of catching Alphas with the right IVs and passives are insane.

Hello you wonderful human. I’m currently over 250 hours in on my very first load on palworld and my game is on day 166. Is my game at any deficiency because I haven’t started again from full release? Also, this I,V stuff seems so complicated, I don’t know if I can follow it with a 40hour job and 4 kids and three dogs. I did manage to get a chickipi condensed to max level. Stuff like this is what contributes to burnout people. If you’re a gaming freak of nature that strives for perfection have at it but in reality there is no need to try and dump hours into this system. There’s no leaderboard, no ranking system, and the only person you’re being compared to is yourself. I won’t tell you how to play the game and if stuff like this is what you enjoy then go wild but if all that this amounts to is being able to kill an alpha pal slightly faster it’s a waste of time in my eyes. Depending on what they do with PvP this will actually matter but what we have now is not that (And let’s be honest people will probably hack in perfectly stated pals for PvP anyway). As someone who loves the grind of min/maxing, I'm really hoping that the PvP system they deliver will make IVs relevant. In my opinion, the current combat system is so exploitable that IVs are totally unnecessary, but if they can strike a mix between skill and stats well for PvP, I will be happy to start using IVs to min/max. I captured a level 15 lucky Melpaca near my base. It is 32 30 30. Thing is the calculator only goes to 240 for attack while my Melpaca is 249. Only the lucky passive boosts the attack. I did select the correct active skills as well. What am I doing wrong?

Don´t know why I make so many test, but love it... and to the people who said, this is a waste of time or set a "Custom setting server" for instant eggs hatching? guys undestand, some people enjoy so much this journey fo Iv's, is awesome to revive Old pokemon journey for the perfects Iv's but honestly? my only advice I can give to those who don;t wanna think about numbers and calculate: Step 1: -Aim for the skills set you wish for that PALs (skill I mean Legend, ferociuos, etc etc...) Step 2: -Grind and save each of those Pals with the perfect skills you wish (multiple times) Step 3: -Level them up quick with 4 bosses fight Step 4: - compare all of them... repeat. and enjoy! that is a rewarding way to the perfect journey in the lack of content like the old days. and yes is a long way! because when you get your first Pal with perfect Iv's? you will do the same for the next one

I just bred that red flyer from the dessert sotaku with anubis for a jormuntide. Can breed that red flyer to get alot of new pals i need. That foxsickle with teafant qnd red flyer as well

I'm glad I can just use a gun to shoot something instead of having to rely on stats of my pals. I mainly use them for passive buffs or as mounts, so thankfully most of that RNG crap is irrelevant and I only have to deal with 1 layer of it.

anyone have any idea which lvl we should put in for 'level synched' pals in the iv? the level they're synced to (player level) or the pal level (which is higher than player level)?

Bred a foxsparks with legend, flame emperor, musclehead,and ferocious. Fully upgraded it with palsouls and condesned it to rank 4 before inwatched this video. Kind of afraid to check the IVs...

So what is the most efficient way of breeding? get perfect IV's first or perfect skills first then focus the other after?

I knew there were differences but did not go nearly this deep. Took 97 babies before I got just Flame Emperor and Musclehead on my Balzamut. Didn't see ferocious a single time so we aint messing with IVs lol

The little increase to the stats I personally don’t thing is worth the time, even at level 50

So if you are using the calculator and adding in all your passives be of Vanguard or any other Player stat increase passives. The calculator is adding them to the Pal Stat giving weird values.

Unrelated to this but whats with the island with the giant tree in the northwest corner of the map every time i try to got explore it i get stopped by a red wall

Are perfectly bred non-alphas better than their alpha counterparts? The alpha versions have a ton more HP no?

Did you know that you can get an increased breeding rate for instance I breed flaris and inubis in the desert and was getting eggs about 4x faster hope this helps you

The guy who made the spreadsheet told me passives matter more than IV's.

​@@nuke2099 Yeah, one Passive can be like, a 30% ATK Boost by itself. (Muscleheaded), Or Legend being an absurd 20 in 3 catagories. Passives massively outweigh IVs, a perfect Trait Pal with no IVs would outcass a perfect IV Pal with terrible Traits. IVs seem moreso minmaxing.

Well done on the vid. But my brain is not ready to implement this level of min maxing. Crossbreeding to get the passives on the pal i want is enough for now. Though will definitely keep this in mind once i start max lvl some of my pals
