after excessively trying things out I can say: you're right - most of the time. things that i recognize can differ or are also helping is: 1. The Villager you want to kick out isn't always outside at a given time. 2 Villager right now for me are either in or out of their home - randomly at the same time. 2. You don't need to skip one day forward. Maybe it can help, but I've found that the bubble also can reposition on another one just with close and restart. (though I don't know if it you need to hear isabelle talking or just close and load at the same time). 3. If you want to get a visitor from the camp to move in but don't want a beloved one to move out, reload the game and talk to it again. This (it seem like) randomly changes the one who needs to move out for the new one to move in.

For those who have turnips here's a tip: Your turnips will not spoil AS LONG AS YOU DONT OVERLAP PLAYING TIME So every time you stop playing, note the switch time (say 8:05 am) Every time you start playing again, set the clock back to the time you wrote down, just add a few minutes to be safe (say 8:08 am) (Optional) On the day you can start hunting, start at 5am for maximum hunting time

Good advice. Indeed this works. Technically this is not traveling backwards for the game. The game calculate the progressed time passed at the moment you start up your save file coming back to it. Easy manipulated. I used to note down the latest date I played New Leaf the last time. Coming back a half year later I continue the game set on the date just the day after, and my villager think I never left. Most for the record of avoiding villagers from moving. In that game, only the days you called out a villager who wants to move to stay, is a safe date to TT forward long time distances. In New Horizons however, this is not an issue at all.

I know this isn't well known, but you can get the though bubble to show up by either saving and going back in the game or using the Call resident app- It sort of refreshes the game every time and will get the bubble to show up if you couldn't find one that day- I've done this and I've been able to usually find the bubble rather quickly! Hope this helps someone! Edit: Sorry if I wasn't really clear in my explanation! The Call Resident App only works if you have another resident on the island (The alternative would be just saving and then going back in game, but call resident is faster)- You must also have the move out bubble already going around, but you can also use it to find the villager with the bubble- This method doesn't transfer the bubble onto another villager sadly (I've tried this), but all you have to do is wait a day or go forward in time and the bubble will move onto another villager! Hope this clears up somethings!

I’ve been trying to get Audie in boxes so I can give her to a friend for about 15 hours. No matter what method I use I can’t get her to move out, and I’m going insane. It is my understanding that thought bubbles where villagers gift you items, challenge you to find treasure, and etc. are random events and are unrelated to the moving thought bubble. Also the only thought bubbles that occur for the first hour or so after loading your island for the day will be villagers wanting to move

Indeed, my experience as well they’re unrelated events of thought bubbles. Likewise, it is completely fine to talk to all thoughtbubble villagers and find out. If you call out a villager to stay, you won’t loose the thoughtbubble for moving. There will still be a thoughtbubble villager for moving the next day. Or by TT 15 days back and forth.

I've found that you can transfer the thought bubble on the same day by hitting the villager with the thought bubble once with the bug net. They immediately stop thinking and the bubble will transfer to someone else on the same day. This works for me every time.

I feel like your guides are never as clear and thorough as they could be. I'm confused. First, you mention jumping 30 days. But why do you jump back from June 28 to May 26? Any specific reason? Second, in a previous video you mentioned how the thought bubble does not seem to appear on Saturdays when KK Slider is in town. Is this not a thing anymore? Third, how many days should I keep checking if the thought bubble transferred and when do I consider jumping 30 days again? So far my gf and I have been time-travelling to kick out villagers using the 15 day method. It does NOT take 10 minutes unless you forgot to mention things in these guides. As of right now, I have spent the past 9 hours trying to kick out Bubbles. I had 2 new villagers move in after her and also had 1 villager move out after she moved in. I hardly interacted with her and even pushed her around. When I check consecutive days to see if the bubble transfers, it seems to cap at 3 days for some reason and then I stop seeing it unless I jump another 15 days or so.

Indeed this guide is not thought trough. There is a lot of stuff to debunk. - The friendship rating does NOT affect the chance to a certain villager to move. Friendly event thoughtbubbles is unrelated to the moving thoughtbubble. No need to bully villagers. It is still random. - I guess the 30 days thing is a guarantee to find a “someone wanna move out”-day. After that, 15 days TT back and forth is just enough. Or 1 day at a time forward as the thoughtbubble of moving keeps transferring day after day. This is new behavior for New Horizons veterans aren’t used to.

*guys i think i figured out how to kick out villagers.... ive used this twice* (im still testing it out tho) ok so there was this one villager i really liked so i talked to them like 10 times a day because i thought it would make out friendship stronger. after like a week of talking to them non-stop a day, they eventually got i guess annoyed and wanted to leave. to test out my theory even more, i tried it on another one of my favorite villagers. i didn't use the one i didn't like just incase it backfired and our friendship got stronger. and guess what... they wanted to leave too. im currently using it on the villager i dont like. its been a few days and im pretty sure its working! if you wanna try this out, i would suggest doing it on one villager that you really like just incase it doesnt work for you. if they wanna leave just say you dont want them too, or you can leave them alone (while they have the thought bubble) and wait for the thought bubble to go to someone else. i really hoped this helped

i saw in another video that if the bubble is on a villager that you haven’t talked to yet for the day, it will be the move out bubble, you can confirm by going into a store or other loading screen and coming back outside to see that the bubble is still there, if it was an item, it would disappear. The move out bubble can disappear temporarily as well on the day someone wants to move out, but it can come back as long you haven’t talked to them yet. So they can want to leave at different times of the day, making it easier for non time travelers to distinguish what is a move out bubble without talking to them if you’ve done work and don’t want to lose the work by quitting bc you don’t want them to leave.

I share your frustration on this. I’ve been playing NH since day of release (like most people!) and I FINALLY had my first meteor shower two days ago. I’ve been so annoyed because even though I got the recipes for the Aries and Taurus items, I couldn’t build them because I’ve just been relying on very few, very infrequent shooting stars. But two nights ago I got my first proper shower since release and I’ve been able to make the Gemini item. It’s just a shame they’re not more regular :(

Even if you don’t get one on your island and you have a friend who happens to be having one that day, go to their island and wish on the stars anyway! The fragments will wash up on your beach the next day! I don’t usually play during the night so I haven’t had one since I started playing but this was handy for me to know :)

Well yes. But it is a false belief that it won’t continue if you actually go talks to them. To debunks this: - It is perfectly fine to go talk to thoughtbubble villagers and check out their intention. - If it is the villager, who have the move thought, it is just fine to tell them to stay. The moving thoughtbubble will continue to someone else the next day! - A new cool down of 15 days only occur after a villager have moved, not after a villager have been denied to move. - Wrong call out in this video many commments here: friendly exchange thoughtbubbles is unrelated events and doesn’t effect the outcome who is more willing to move. Many experience high friendship rated villagers to want to move just as often as the ones with low friend rates. In the end. It is just inconvenient to avoid the thoughtbubble villagers. As you won’t know their intention and missing out other events unrelated to moving.

If you have people visit, they'll move in the next day. It'll usually be a villager they recently had leave. If you don't visit or have villagers, it should be more days. I've had it last as long as 4 days of no move-ins

Seriously, I’ve found the best method is to just talk to them a couple times a day for the first few days they’re on your island, then don’t talk to them at all. Usually, they’ll want to move out in under a week

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I think I figured out a trick for kicking out neighbors. So when you know the bubble above their head is them wanting to move, rather than ignore them and wait a few days till it's the animal you want gone. You might be able to instead, hit them with a net, run around a bit, and it should be a different animal with the bubble. Might have been a fluke, but I did it 2 times at least and it worked

Just for additional information: How friendship affects who wants to move out is basically like a raffle as someone from the ACNH Discord server pointed out. Without getting into the mathematics basically, the lower the friendship rating the more raffle tickets they get of wanting to move out so for a villager with 0 friendship points they get 30 raffle tickets while someone with max friendship points get 2. You then pool all the raffle tickets from all your villagers then the game chooses one to yeet.

No, I rather debunk this. The friendship rating does not affect who wants to move at all. It is completely random. If this would be true, everyone telling about how they bully or avoid a certain villager would be most successful. But that is not the case.Rather the opposite. Quite odd why to believe Nintendo would make a kid friendly game about bullying would ever come to a reality is beyond me.

Tag said its because you are best friends and the game wants to circle in new villagers. You have to either lower the friendship down to zero or max it out.

If a villager you don’t want to move out asks you to move out. Don’t click the option to stay. Just close the application and reboot the game. Then a different villager might have the thought bubble.

Sorry but I had no clue as to what he said in the video...very confusing. Anyways, as others have commented before, I did the following to rid of a villager! Keep in mind, I don't time travel at all so it felt a bit risky for me to do this, but it's alright! ! 1. I saw what time my villager who I wanted to kick out was outside. Was roughly around 12 pm. 2. I time travelled 15 days into the future. I counted literally 15 times to make sure I did my math correctly. 3. When I opened the game I saw that no one had a thought bubble. So I saved the game and closed the game. 4. Travelled only 1 day into the future and lo and behold, my villager who I wanted to move out, ASKED TO MOVED OUT! She was heavily gifted and she had already gifted me her framed photo. So you don't really need to be at the lowest friendship level to get rid of a villager!!

Regarding the thought bubble, perhaps this was a fluke on my system but I got the thought bubble on a villager I didn't want to move so I actually saved and quit the game right there and reloaded and the thought bubble appeared on a different villager I was okay with leaving so I talked to them and they left. All on the same day.

Hi! i found a really easy way to get rid of villagers you do not want!!!!, it is done with time travelling so keep in mind!. First to get rid of villagers you have to talk to them, but usually you talk to every villager on your island, so when you time skip 15 days forward, the bubble appears to a completely random villager. To avoid that, i recommend to you making a second account and with this character ONLY talk to the villager you want gone and then time travel 15 days forward (with the same second account). With this method you will make sure that the bubble appears only in the villager you want out. if the villager runs towards you wanting to talk, just ignore them and time travel again. My beloved little Static left. (He had asked to move before and I said no. And I said no when Resident Services suggested him to Whitney since my island is full. When it suggested him for the 3rd time I said ok I'd let him go. He must still have some roaming around to do. He just doesn't know that I'll eventually hunt him down again, or kidnap him via amiibo card haha!) Rocket and Tank were my two that moved in with me, and Ava and Jacob were part of my original 5. This is the method I tried after several unsuccessful attempts searching for a new villager (I had Quillson in boxes so 24hrs to fill his spot). Time was up and Phil 😒 moved in and replaced my recently departed Quillson. The same day Phil moved in I fenced him in, I also didn’t speak to him. A day later I had a campsite visitor, Peanut ☺️. We played the card game and Phil was the suggested villager to boot out. Job done ✅

The friendship level is based on the average friendship score between all playable characters on your island, so if you have a profile on your island for utilitarian purposes or your gf/by, brother or sister don't play anymore then it is going to impact that average score.

Okay so just to save people time here is what you need to do and it involves time traveling: 1. Set your date and time for 1 day and boot up the game to see if any villager has the thought bubble. 2. If its the villager you don't want to move. Close the game and time travel 2 weeks for another villager to have the bubble. 3. When that said villager is the one you want to move just say yes you want them to move out. 4. TIme travel one day and you will see them moving out when they have all their boxes 5. Time Travel one more time and you'll see that their house is gone and no one else is moving in. Now you can hunt for villagers using NMTs Hope this helps.

You can tell if a villager want to leave or if they want to give u a gift because if u have talked to them already they have a 100% chance of giving u something while having a thought bubble but if u haven’t then it’s most likely to be them leaving

I had a villager move in without my permission. I spoke to them once to introduce myself, then fenced them in and never spoke to them again. Does this not keep their friendship from raising? Because even after gaining another villager after that, I never saw a bubble on them. It wasn't until I began to speak to them regularly that they finally got a leave bubble. Also, I have a friend on my switch who isn't a friend in Animal Crossing yet. Does this still count towards getting their villagers? Because it happened to me.
