Mark was a sound bloke,very down to earth. Just a regular punter in the Queens Park Cafe down in Vicky Road back in the 80's,who was much loved and sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Thanks for this mate.

Thanks for this. Great job and nostalgia!. Always loved TAGGART from the very beginning, and am presently enjoying every single minute of working my way through the Complete Box Set of DVDs... There's *only* 110 episodes... and, of course, there'll been dozens and dozens of murrdas to try and crack...! ;-)

Thanks for getting in touch and I'm really glad you like the video. There are more stills on my flickr page in the description if you are interested. I keep meaning to go back and do more Taggart locations but from what I remember they started being one story per series or they were shown as mini series and I have never got round to seeing what came next.

OMG, I just left a comment on your video about the garden festival and how I have video footage. I was also in Taggart when I was around 6, my aunt was an extra on all different Scottish filmed things and my cousin and I were in an episode filmed at a swing park, I've tried so hard to find it for my cousin as his mum passed when he was 17 back in 1998. I even contacted stv but they couldn't help. I've scrolled through lots of the early episodes and can't find it unfortunately. I'll try again one day soon. I remember I got a cheque for 20 pounds and was so chuffed lol

Thats a great story that you were in Taggart. In episode 1 there is a scene at Partick cross that shows the swing park at the back of the Tennements on Dumbarton road. Could it have been here? rewoundandfound.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Gondola-bar-1-then-and-now.jpg

My mum was only saying to me last week when we were driving through that there used to be a night club under that bit at the bridge, I couldn't make the name of it out but 🤔 I love seeing videos like this of my city, now & then. I was really looking forward to seeing the new Batgirl film for that reason as well. Especially since they did a good amount of filming down in the old tunnel in Botanics. I used to love walking the full thing down to kelvinbridge in the pitch black!

Has anyone noticed, the guy in the early shots with the camera in Milngavie and at the Cathedral is Harry, Isa's estranged husband in Still Game. He was in the episode at The Firhill Tavern, im sure Dorothy Paul played his wife?
@joblesswideo-fb7nj3 ай бұрын
Ronnie Letham. He blackmailed Douglas Sannachen to do away with his wife but he killed Dorothy Paul instead. The episode was called Murder In Season

0:40 a Morris Ital police car, a car few people under 50 will remember now, but was popular in the early eighties. It didn't handle very well, though, and going round a corner at high speed would probably have meant it spun round in the other direction.

Amazing finding all those spots... must be a native Glaswegian. A lot of them haven't really changed much up to 2014.

R.i.p. mark he was the number 1 actor in the series. I have seen most of the films in the stv series it was well made with a twist towards the end searching for the crooks behind the murders.

Best show. I’ve been watching here in America and I’m on season 17. The best were the older seasons and Mike just died! Not sure I’ll enjoy the others. I think I’ll start over with season 1.

I think the old ones are the best, in my opinion it lost its way after Mark McManus passed away.

Panama Jacks - now there"s a blast from the past - i remember it very well - I remember Ally McCoist was in there one night with another Rangers player - on the wind up as usual - asked me if thought he was good looking - i did actually - of course that was years ago when he was young - as i was

Great job awesome! Always wondering what happened to these buildings, wondering if free rein for filming was given just before knockdown. One old house was used by the character George Bryce in Knife Edge and I can only imagine what 'progress' has brought to that nice vacant land.

Not a native Glaswegian, but I have been to Glasgow as a tourist. Did Taggart make the city seem like a much more dangerous place than it is in real life?
@AstonishingGlasgow7 жыл бұрын
As with any place, perception is usually very different to reality and TV/film companies like to play on peoples perception to make a good story. Of course there are less safe areas of the city but its no more dangerous than any major city.
@jameshanley91026 жыл бұрын
have you lived in govan m8
@AstonishingGlasgow6 жыл бұрын
For me? I have never lived in Govan but I have lived in Glasgow since birth and my point was that there isnt a sophisticated murder every week and you can walk the city without being killed. Glasgow is no way more dangerous than any other city of the world.
@Syklonus4 жыл бұрын
I'm from London but I live in Glasgow now, and it's one of the most friendly and safest places I've ever been to. I've even walked through Govan at night and it was fine. The stereotypes about Glasgow and anything north of the border are all bullshit cooked up by the London-based media. Trust me, I know. I was shocked when I came here and found out that none of the negative things printed about Scotland were true.
