Oh God, he was the scariest skin crawling creepy psycopath on any given tv show or movie in the history. So perfect that actually it was hard for me to dissociate him from the character. Phenomal!

I KNEW I recognized him. Perfect casting for the role. Calm, cunning, decisive. A young man who could do anything. A natural casting for the Serpent.

Tahar's role in The Serpent sent chills up my spine. What an amazing talent he is. I think you are looking at the next James Bond after Daniel Craig makes his exit.

After watching The Serpent, I can’t help but thinking about a remake of American gigolo with Tahar as Richard Gere’s character.

Yes, but he's also extremely genuine and real... not the slightest bit pretentious which you often see in Hollywood.

No exaggeration to say this guy is one of the best of his generation - compare A Prophet to Grand Central to The Serpent. Chameleon level actor & totally convincing in every skin he chooses to live in.

So smart and charming not to mention one of the new actors now that you dare to ignore. He scared me shit with his magnificent performance on The Serpent, a film I only intended to watch because of Jenna "Queen Victoria" Coleman but Tahar stole the show lock stock and barrel.

I love that he refused to be dragged into an anti-universalist/humanist discourse. As a fellow mixed background minority I really respect that. It does not help us to be adversarial or cynical despite not being naive about unequalities and state of the world and history.

Yeah, absolutely. He does a hundred more against racism by not playing the lesson-giver. He simply assumes what he is, a French actor, born and raised in France, and whose parents did not come from France. Like Belmondo, Ventura, or, in the comics, Uderzo (Spanish parents). And many, many others in all forms of art, or science. I regret the existence of anti-Muslim racism (I don't like to talk about "Islamophobia". Because criticism, or even the total rejection of a religion, is an absolute right. Otherwise, we come back to the law against blasphemy like the one they tried to pass against Charlie Hebdo, but they lost the case thanks to heaven - and especially to French law ! - We have the right to hate Christianity, Buddhism, Islam etc.)., But the rejection of Muslims because they are Muslims,, it's the very essence of racism, and it's disgusting, we agree. But it’s not just the fault of evil white racists. The attacks at Bataclan, Nice, September 11, the attacks in London, Barcelona, Brussels and other acts of profound stupidity had a lot to do with it. We must not fall into their trap, because they are trying to make racism grow. This is their only chance to push the millions of Muslims who until now are not too badly off in Europe into a radical war. Instead of a few dozen soldiers, they dream of having tens of thousands. It must remain a dream/nightmare. Fighting racism means fighting Islamists.
