There was the Kim/Kanye drama how they recorded and edited a phone call about his song famous and they got the public/media to turn on her and call her a liar and a snake. She went into hiding and wasn’t seen out about for a whole year. But during that time she was writing this album and took the whole snake name calling and embraced it into the theme for this and blacked out her social medias and took fans by surprise dropping the album. And when she announced the tour lots of people didn’t think it would do well or sell out. Which can figure out now it did the opposite and killed it. Definitely do more REPUTATION!!!! Especially from the Stadiums Tour!!! There’s a good mix of album songs, old discography hits, mashups, and she does some guitar/piano ones as well!!!

Since they don't have the additional context: It later turned out the phone call was misleadingly edited and Taylor Swift was telling the truth the whole time. Just so y'all don't think that Kanye and Kim were in the right here. (A lot of people never heard the full phone call and never changed their opinion of Taylor after the #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty ...I was there in the thick of things when all that went down, and it was a fuckin' bloodbath on Twitter and Tumblr. Even though, like, it was obvious to me that the illegally recorded call was edited? I don't think 80% of the people involved even listened to the misleading soundbyte.) (Hope the extra context on your post is okay!)
@kellyprang611 Жыл бұрын
The deal with the phonecall- Kanye called Taylor to ask her to drop his new song Famous on her Instagram, and said he had a line that said "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex" she sounded pretty uncomfortable but told him she didn't want to use her Instagram to deliver a misogynistic message. She also said - I thought you would call me a bitch, thank goodness you didn't. The song came out and said "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex- Why? I made that bitch famous!" She said she didn't approve his use of that line, Kim K and Kanye said she approved it and dropped an edited recording of the phonecall that Kim had filmed. Then, Kanye dropped thr video for the song and it had a wax figure of Taylor naked and in bed with Kanye, along with other famous people wax figures- including Rhianna next to Chris Brown (who had severely beaten Rhianna when they were dating). Kim K went on Twitter and said "It's national snake day today? They have days for everybody-- I mean everything now!" With a ton of snake emojis, then lots of people went on Taylor's twitter/instagram and posted #Taylor is over, and tons of snake emojis. The hashtag was the global #1 trending hashtag on Twitter for days. Taylor went into hiding and wasn't seen by paparazzi for weeks, and she fell in love with a British actor named Joe, who she wrote Reputation about while they were living in the UK for almost a year. They dated from 2016-2023, then announced their breakup in April 2023. In 2020, someone hacked Kim K's phone and released the unedited phonecall showing that Kanye never told Taylor he was gonna call her a bitch in the song, like she had said back in 2016. When that happened, Kim K posted about how they had all moved past it and why was anyone concerned about what was said so long ago and during a pandemic that there were more important things to worry about. So, Reputation came out in late 2017, with lots of images of snakes in her new music videos and on her Instagram. Before the stuff in 2016, Taylor actually allowed comments on her profiles on social media, and interacted with fans on Tumblr, but she wiped all her socials clean and started over when Reputation dropped. All the clips of the media at the beginning of the intro were from the time she was in "disgrace", and she actually invited all of those media people to opening night of the Reputation tour, not telling them she was using their words for the intro. Many media people had said she was "playing the victim" when she said she hadn't approved Kanye calling her a bitch in his song.

Here’s the lore: The whole Kanye stage thing happened, then him and Taylor made up and became friendly. Then sometime after that He called her up, asking her if he could use her name in a song, she said yes. The song dropped and the lyric actually said “Taylor Swift… I made that bitch famous” Taylor was obviously very upset about this bc this was not the lyric they’d agreed on. However she didn’t know that Kim and Kanye had recorded their phone call, and they edited it to sound like Taylor had approved that lyric when she didn’t. Then Kanye came out and accused her of trying to stir up drama on purpose and turn people against him and being a “lying snake”. It was a major betrayal from someone she had begun to consider to a friend. The media, celebrities, and social media sided with Kanye. Taylor hid herself away until she was like, “Fuck it, if they’re gonna ruin my reputation like this, I’m gonna own it.” And sure enough in 2020 the actual unedited video was leaked confirming that Taylor had been telling the truth all along. Which honestly it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see through Kanye’s lie but people always seem to jump on the chance to have a reason to hate Taylor.

So seeing this comeback tour where she was so dominant and better than ever was sooo emotional for me as a lifelong fan. Also, she invited all of the media from that intro video snippets to opening night so they were in the crowd to watch her completely kill it on stage. Such a boss move 😂

7:25 EXACTLY! I've always thought that female performers are held to a much higher standard. No one gets mad at a guy for just singing with his guitar, but people call female singers lazy if they don't do a whole dance routine whilst singing perfectly.

@silasfenchel22005 ай бұрын
Billie Eilish has already given some performances where she is just singing accompanied by her brother on piano. No one got mad at her or called her lazy. Why is that? Because her music doesn’t need to be performed with a great dance routine, her music can stand on its own. The standard aren’t defined by the gender, it’s defined by the music you perform. „Ready for it“, on the other hand, is a dance song. Thus needs a dance performance. If Taylor Swift would just perform this song by accompanying herself on guitar, it would just be boring.

I was so excited to see this on my feed! I knew you would be blown away. I would do I Did Something Bad next, and then *Don't Blame Me*. This tour is INSANE. She does do the acoustic sets too, where it's just her and a guitar or piano. The piano version of Clean and Long Live/New Year's Day from this tour are also amazing. As for the lore - Taylor was 19 and Kanye was 32 when he ripped the microphone from her hand (2009). He's done a lot of horrible things to her as well. Reputation was a response to her being "cancelled" in 2016, after a different incident - Taylor clapped back at Kanye for taking credit for her fame and for calling her a bitch in his new song. KimYe released a video of what seemed like Taylor approving lyrics in Kanye's song (years later it was revealed that the video was edited and that Taylor had been telling the truth). She disappeared from the public for a year, and then came back like a bat outta hell with the Reputation album and tour. Her concerts have always been theatre-type productions, but this one was huge.

Nearly a decade after Kanye went up on stage, he writes a song where he says he may still sleep with Taylor & says he made that B famous. He and Kim K edited a tape of him seemingly show he was getting her permission & released it. It was later proven that the edits misrepresented the conversation but in the meantime everyone was calling her a snake 🐍 and posting these emojis all over her social media w Kim K leading the charge. She went away with nobody seeing her for over a year and she wrote this album. Throughout the tour she used giant snakes & broke every record out there for sold out stadium tours. Meanwhile Kanye went o. Tour and sand that song on his crooked stage but was unable to finish the tour. She used a reference to the crooked stage in look what you made me do and so many of these songs throw shade at he and his wife. It’s brilliant. Don’t come for Taylor because she kicks ass every time.

I went to the Eras Tour at AT&T stadium in April. We were in the nosebleed but my brain was still a slushie for the entire first song. It was completely unreal. The experience of being in the stadium with everyone and Taylor was completely infectious. Even up in the worst seats everyone was just happy to be there, dressed up, joyful, kind… like I’m not a fan of crowds but I felt so safe and welcome with my fellow fans. But I completely blacked out for the first song. Hahaha. You have to do I Did Something Bad from the Rep tour. It’s the next song in the set list after Ready for It. Context for this tour, it was after she went dark for about a year. The first kanye thing was way back during her Fearless Era. But kanye and Kim screwed her over before rep, claiming she lied about giving kanye permission to call her a (I don’t know the comment filtering, but a nasty word for a female) in his song and released this edited version of the phone call and stuff. They started a campaign on social media calling Taylor a Snake. So you’ll see a lot of snake imagery in this tour. If your an Ed fan, she did a collab with Ed and Future on the reputation album too.

Taylor's concerts are more Broadway show production than just a regular concert. Totally worth it. Took my daughter to The Eras Tour in April in Arlington, TX. It's the same stadium that the Reputation Tour movie was done. She sold out 3 back-to-back nights for The Eras Tour here ~75k people each night. Capacity: she doesn't sell tickets behind the stage (of course), so it's not the complete capacity of the stadium for a football game, but considered sold-out for the concert.

Yes, it played live at the concert. This was the most amazing concert I’ve ever seen and it is definitely worth the money. This concert/album was her comeback and take control of her music & life again. A bunch of dirty deeds were done to her by Kanye and Kim, even to the point that Taylor disappeared from pubic view for over a year. From Kansas City - spending time getting to know Taylor Swift, I just watched this tour on Netflix. It may be leaving soon. It will blow you away.

Taylor swift was 19 when Kanye ran up on the stage. But there were a lot of people spreading fake news about her so she had enough and she disappeared from the public eye for some time and when she came back she dropped this album which is about her reputation

I attended this concert live. I absolutely amazing and worth every penny. The concert you put on after returning to performing after having removed herself from social media, and the public eye we’re almost 2 years because of all the hate. As she said, “there will be no explanation, just. “reputation” (the tour/ songs/ performance). This is just the video of the intro (played on the stadium… those clips of the hateful talk.. played before she started this opening number. It was amazing to experience in person

You were right about her dancers coming up from the floor. Just before they went on stage, they lined up along the sides of the X catwalk wings that shot out from the stage on the same level as the crowd, right in front of us in the pit. (The stage was higher than the crowd was.) There were stairs on each side that led up onto the stage. I was actually in the pit right in front of the steps, so many of the dancers actually slapped my hand as they went on stage. It was incredibly cool. Tay also stopped and sang down to me a few times during the show, (I've been to 4 of her different concerts: Speak Now, RED, 1989 and Reputation,) and she has done that every time, (I would LIKE to think she recognized me, but I highly doubt it,) and the first concert, (Speak Now,) she hugged me as she made her way through the crowd from the main stage to the b-stage, which doesn't happen the same way it used to due to her popularity and security concerns obviously. She also stopped right in front of me, letting me get one of my favorite pictures of her I've ever taken during the song, "Don't Blame Me", for her iconic 'moment'. Trust me, you will know the moment I'm talking about if you watch the live version of the song, although it doesn't capture her from the angle I got, which amplified the entire thing ten-fold. Unfortunately with these videos they only capture brief pieces of what was actually going on. There were a lot more fireworks, fire, etc, that happened and aren't captured on the recording. What you actually see is only a brief glimpse into just how epic the concert truly was. PS: Yes, all the 'video packages' played on the massive screens at different points in the concert. And although you can't see it, there is a large, full band up on platforms behind those screens. There is a point in the concert where it opens up, and you can see all the musicians.

Reputation album was a come back album because she was gone for a year and came back with this. Amidst kanye and Kim's drama. Anyway love your reaction. it gives me joy seeing the notif that you drop a Taylor's reaction. Can you please react to "I did something bad" from that reputation tour too. Thank you!

Something iconic about the intro is she invited all those media people that said those things about her to the opening night and they had no clue that was going to be played and was shocked with everyone else! She’s so iconic !!!

Okay so just to give a recap of the Kanye drama… after the VMA’s incident, Taylor forgave Kanye, she even wrote a song about forgiving him. Then, he put out a song that had a few lines about Taylor, including calling her a b*tch, and she was publicly upset by it. Kanye said he got her permission for the lines and Taylor said that wasn’t true. Kim then leaked an EDITED video of a phone call between Taylor and Kanye where it appears like he told her what lines are about her and she gave permission. Because of this video, she got so much hate. People and the media were calling her a liar, a snake, telling her to disappear, etc. Taylor Swift is over party was even trending on Twitter. So then she did disappear, no one saw her for like a year. There are rumors she was going to put out an album because she was putting one out every 2 years at that point, and even that got cancelled. So then a year later, she returned with the album Reputation as a big f you to all the haters. And eventually the unedited version of the phone call came out showing that Taylor didn’t lie and she never gave permission for Kanye to call her a b*tch. Tried to make that as short as possible, but there’s the lore for you lol

After Kanye released “Famous”. Taylor was pissed because he had pretended to be apologetic. Swore he got her permission in a phone call for how he used her in the song and video. Kim lashed out and released a heavily edited phone call which made it look like Taylor was fine with it. Somehow, somebody got the original recording of the call, showing TS was NOT okay with it being misogynistic and Kanye never said he was going to call her a bitch in the lyrics. The media took sides and it was a whole big thing. T basically disappeared for about a year and a half and came back with this album. The woman knows how to reclaim the narrative! Bam.

So I didn’t get to see reputation when it was live but I was at eras and I can say that the anticipation before she comes in like while you’re waiting during the intro is insane. I’m talking like the whole place was vibrating and the emotions I was feeling were insane. If I would have been up front I would have cried the whole show I know it, as it was I managed to keep myself under control for most of it, but yeah I’m just saying she is incredible live and just the feelings omg

So, I'm a 53 yr old Dad. Been a fan of TS since Debut. Took my 12 yr old to Rep as her first concert. (Got free floor tix in 11th row). She blew my ears out during the Intro and Ready for it. Still have it on my phone. She's become a mega fan since. And I am always impressed with Ms Swift. We saw her again for Eras. It was also awesome but I feel like Reputation tour was better. There's no fan base like the Swifites. And no artist quite like Taylor. No one does what she does. No one. No one can generate 3 new albums and 4 re-releases in 3 years - w/ 2 during pandemic. No one plays in the rain like she does for 3.5 hrs. No one directs videos and short films. She's a professional in all she does. Yeah, I'm a fan.
@clarkbarrett6274 Жыл бұрын
Should also say. I've been to plenty of shows with other bands including the Stones in Prague with 100,000 people. Rep was the best production I had seen until Eras. And Eras was amazing with 3.5 hrs of content, costumes, stage changes. But I still like Rep better. It was less overwhelming than Eras too. How Taylor can do it for 3 5 hrs I do not know. She's just crazy good at what she does.

The first time I saw Taylor she was doing concerts in the Target parking lot county fair style. I won tickets on the radio. I was pregnant at the time. I have been a Swiftie ever since. I saw this tour and two other shows. One basically an acoustic storytellers show which was so interesting and captivating in a different way. And yeah, people were dropping in excitement. Fast forward to this Era tour. I moved heaven and earth to have this experience with my now 17 year old. Yes, it was expensive. But it was also history and bonding with my kid in a way that a trip to Disney or a cruise or skiing wouldn't be.

I was at this tour. Which I’m forever thankful I got to see this show in person because it is my favorite album. When she came out I had happy tears for a good couple seconds. It was AMAZING to see this. Seeing her live makes the songs even better. She is amazing every single damn time. Also I got to see Ed Sheeran too. He was one of her opening acts for her Red Tour in 2012. My cousin is a big Ed Sheeran fan so she was more excited than me, I was super excited because it was my first Taylor Swift concert. I got to attend the Res Tour, 1989 tour & Reputation tour.

can confirm, as someone who's loved taylor since i was 4, i BAWLED my eyes out at the eras tour with my best friend. she's been the soundtrack to whole life truly, and she's responsible for a lot of happy memories for me. she also has an insane ability to write girlhood into her songs, and knowing that she has also experienced things like sexual assault, grooming, manipulative exes etc, she is the only artist i can truly turn to that i know will be able to put my thoughts and pain into words. love watching new swifties being born haha. thanks for these videos, they're really great :)

If you're into Ed Sheeran, he and Taylor have a couple of songs together you could check out. One song is from Red, called Everything has changed - more of a slow vibe. Endgame is on Reputation and has the same hip hop vibes as Ready For It does. This one also has a Future feature.

Guys…Kanye has given Taylor shit for YEARS. In fact she recently said the way she was treated by Kanye and Kim almost destroyed her. And she would be depressed…couldn’t get out of bed but she’s over it now. Listen to ThanK you aIMee by Taylor on her new album and she goes into detail. She is PHENOMENAL and so glad that in the end, she didn’t let them destroy her

@TaterCot Жыл бұрын
That was a fun one to watch! You honestly had to live through everything that led up to this tour to really comprehend just how epic it was! You mentioned how the die-hard Swifties must have gone crazy to see their favorite artist live, but you have to know that the crazy was amplified by the fact that she had been bullied and ridiculed in the press and on social media after the Kimye drama (and so too were Swifties in genera) to the point of going into hiding so that we did not see her or hear from her for a year. For fans that had been so used to her being so open and connected with her supporters, it was a shock to the system. You can't even comprehend the "mind-blowingness" of the Rep album drop unless you go back and see Taylor's work up until that point and learn about all the drama that took place. Then try to watch the Look What You Made Me Do video with fresh eyes from the perspective of a die-hard. It was a MOMENT!!!! And this concert in person was another MOMENT!!! I often say in these comments that I kind of feel badly for new Swiftie's who will never get to experience it. But I think it's kind of awesome that those of us who didn't buy into the hate and who stuck by Taylor and loved on Rep and bought the tickets to this show get to have that experience all to ourselves. Cause it really was her die-hards that were the ones showing up for Rep. Everyone's a Swiftie now. And everyone wants in on the Eras Tour, even if you don't consider yourself a huge fan. But that Rep tour was for the die-hards who had her back when the rest of the world had jumped aboard the hate train. Happy to have everyone on the Swiftie train now! But the Rep tour will forever be just ours and we will forever be the lucky ones. 😊
